CAF Awards
The CAF Awards is an awards evening held to honour the best African association football players. It is conferred by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). History The CAF Awards was first awarded in the year 2000. It is an award contested by the Confederation of African Football and awarded to the best African player in each category. The African Footballer of the Year award is the oldest CAF award, being awarded since 1992 that witnessed Abedi Pele winning the inaugural award. Doha El Madani (born 20 October 2005) is a Moroccan footballer who plays as a forward for ASFAR, the Morocco women's national team and Morocco women's national futsal team. Club career Madani has played for ASFAR in Morocco, appearing at the 2024 CAF Women's Champions League. Youcef Belaïli
Mohamed Youcef Belaïli (; born 14 March 1992) is an Algerian professional footballer who plays as a left winger for club Espérance de Tunis and the Algeria national team. Early life Belaïli was born on 14 March 1992 in Oran. He started playing young with RCG Oran and afterwards with MC Oran. Mohamed El Shenawy
Mohamed El-Sayed Mohamed El-Shenawy Gomaa (; born 18 December 1988) is an Egyptian professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Egyptian Premier League club Al Ahly, which he captains, and the Egypt national team. He began his career as a youth player with Al Ahly but was released in 2009, joining Tala'ea El Gaish. He spent time on loan with Haras El-Hodoud before joining Petrojet in 2013. Percy Tau
Percy Muzi Tau (born 13 May 1994) is a South African professional footballer who plays as a forward for Qatar Stars League side Qatar SC and the South Africa national team. Tau began his footballing career with Premier Soccer League side Mamelodi Sundowns where he made 100 appearances either side of a loan to Witbank Spurs. During his time with Sundowns, he won the league title twice and the CAF Champions League once and was named Footballer of the Year and joint- top-goalscorer in his final season with the club. Mamelodi Sundowns F
Mamelodi is a township (South Africa), township northeast of Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa. A part of the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality, it was set up by the then apartheid government in 1953. Etymology"Mamelodi"
is the name derived from the Sepedi word with the prefix being "ma" meaning mother, and the suffix "melodi" meaning melodies. Its meaning can be translated to mean ''Mother of Melodies''.


History

The township was established when 16 houses were built on the farm Vlakfontein in June 1953 and later the name changed to Mamelodi. The Group Areas Act designated Mamelodi as a blacks-only area, though this became moot with the fall of Apartheid in 1994.
