Yarramalong Bus Lines
Yarramalong Bus Lines was an Australian bus operator that ran bus services in the northern part of the Central Coast of New South Wales from 1914 until it was sold to Busways in January 2008. History The business was founded in 1914 by Archie Palmer with a horse-drawn coach to transport passengers and groceries, newspapers and mail. Bags were carried on the roof of the coach and a return trip would cost 2 shillings. A Model-T Ford was the first motorised bus to be acquired and was followed by a Chevrolet in 1948. The bus service ran twice daily in each direction between Yarramalong and Wyong but services were sometimes cancelled because of flooding in the Yarramalong Valley. A coach operation was established and operated under the Palmer Leisure Tours name. This was sold in January 2003 to Road Runner Tours. King Brothers was an Australian bus company operating route and school services in the Mid North Coast region of New South Wales. It collapsed in April 2003 with debts of $220 million, after owners Peter and Tony King were charged with, and later convicted of, fraud. History J&L King was a small family bus operator with route and school services between Kempsey and Crescent Head. It also operated a used bus dealership. In February 1991 it purchased the school services of Argent's. At some stage it operated a Port Macquarie to Tamworth service that was sold in 1996. Plumpton, New South Wales
Plumpton is located 45 kilometres west of the Sydney central business district, in the Local government in Australia, local government area of the City of Blacktown and is part of the Greater Western Sydney region. History Following European settlement of Australia in 1788, attempts were made to integrate Indigenous Australians into the European culture. As significant land grants had been made around Prospect, New South Wales, Prospect, a 'Native Institute' – which came to be known as 'Black's Town' – was built early in the 1820s around the Plumpton area, at the intersection of Rooty Hill Road and Richmond Road. The 'School for Aboriginal Children' was relocated to this institution in 1823, however by 1833 it had been abandoned.
