Big3
Big3 (stylized BIG3) is a 3x3 basketball, 3-on-3 basketball league founded by the hip-hop musician and actor Ice Cube and entertainment executive Jeff Kwatinetz. The league consists of 12 teams whose rosters include both former National Basketball Association, NBA players and international players. The rules of Big3 games contain deviations from the official rules of 3-on-3 basketball as administered by FIBA. It debuted in 2017 and takes place during the NBA offseason. In January 2020, Big3 announced its rule set would be the core of a new basketball variant called "Fireball3" (stylized ''FIREBALL3''). Rick Mahorn
Derrick Allen Mahorn (born September 21, 1958) is an American former professional basketball player who played power forward and center for the Washington Bullets, Detroit Pistons, Philadelphia 76ers, and the New Jersey Nets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is currently a radio analyst for the Detroit Pistons, works as a co-host/analyst on SiriusXM NBA Radio, and during the summer is the head coach of the Aliens of the BIG3. Mahorn had a reputation for physical play, and was a member of the late 1980s Detroit Pistons teams known as "The Bad Boys", and with them won the 1989 NBA Championship. Jeff Kwatinetz
Jeff Kwatinetz (born April 6, 1965) is an American entertainment industry executive. He is the former CEO of The Firm, Inc., a media production and talent management company in Santa Monica, California, and current COO of Cube Vision, the film and television production company he runs with his long-term partner Ice Cube. He is also the co-founder of Big3, a 3 on 3 professional basketball league. Early life and education Kwatinetz was born in Brooklyn, New York to a Jewish family and lived in Brooklyn until the third grade, when his family moved to Marlboro Township, Monmouth County, New Jersey. He graduated from Marlboro High School. He attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois and was chapter president of the Delta Upsilon fraternity. James William White IV (born October 21, 1982) is an American former professional basketball player and current player development coach for the Minnesota Timberwolves. White is well known for his athleticism and ability to dunk. Since high school, his most famous dunk has been the between-the-legs dunk, with many variations. Rashard Quovon Lewis (born August 8, 1979) is an American former professional basketball player. Lewis entered the NBA directly from Alief Elsik High School.
