Berguedà () is an inland Comarques of Catalonia, comarca in the Comarques Centrals, central region of Catalonia, Spain. It lies partly in the Pyrenees and Pre-Pyrenees, and partly in the Catalan Central Depression. The capital is the city of Berga. Geography The northern half of Berguedà, known as ''Alt Berguedà'' (“Upper Berguedà”), consists of the upper Llobregat Valley and the mountainous areas surrounding it. Its northern border is a veritable mountain barrier: Berguedà is separated from Cerdanya by a chain of 2,000-meter peaks. These include the mountain ranges of Serra del Cadí, Cadí, Serra de Moixeró, Moixeró, Puig d'Alp, Catalonia, Alp and Puigllançada. In this area the population is centered mainly in the Llobregat Valley and the valleys of the rivers Bagà, Bastareny and Saldes. Guardiola De Berguedà
Guardiola de Berguedà () is a municipality in the ''comarca'' of the Berguedà in Catalonia. It is situated at the confluence of the Bastareny and Llobregat rivers in the north of the ''comarca''. It is an important local commercial centre, and for this reason has been less affected by depopulation than other municipalities in the Berguedà. The extraction of lignite is also important to the local economy. The town is served by the C-1411 road from Berga to the Cadí tunnel, and is linked to La Pobla de Lillet and Castellar de n'Hug by the B-402 road. Bagà
Bagà () is a Spanish municipality located in the Comarques of Catalonia, comarca of Berguedà, in Catalonia. Traditionally, Bagà is considered the capital of ''Alt Berguedà'', the mountainous northern half of the comarca. Location Bagà is located at the head of the valley of the Llobregat river, at the feet of the high mountains of the Cadí range. The town itself is at 785 metres above sea level. Bagà is 20 kilometers to the north of Berga, and 7.5 kilometers to the south of the ''Túnel del Cadí'', a tunnel which crosses the Cadí range, connecting with the region of la Cerdanya. Gisclareny
Gisclareny () is a municipality in the comarca of Berguedà, Catalonia, located in Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park. In 2018 it became again the smallest village in Catalonia after the village of Sant Jaume de Frontanyà grew by 3 families. The altitude of the inhabited space varies between 800 meters in the neighborhood of Bagà and 1430 in the neighborhood of Coll de la Bena. It is bounded on the north by the Cerdanya, reaching the peaks of the Serra del Cadí, and by Bagà, on the south and west by Saldes and Vallcebre, and on the east by Bagà and Guardiola de Berguedà. Montclar, Berguedà
Montclar () is a municipality in the comarca of Berguedà, Catalonia. The municipality includes an exclave to the north-east. History The town first appears in written documentation in the year 1117. In 1240, King James I of Aragon granted the land to Pere de Breda, though by 1309, it was once again a possession of the crown. Culture The municipality's parochial church, in the Romanesque style, is dedicated to Sant Martí. It was constructed in the 12th century. It has a single nave with apse. It also has a later, hip-roofed bell tower, and conserves a baroque altar and other neoclassical elements in the interior. The church was completely renovated in 1970. The municipality has several other extant churches, including the Church of the Santa Creu, and, notably, the Church of Sant Quintí. Gironella
Gironella () is a municipality in the ''comarca'' of the Berguedà in Catalonia, Spain. It is situated in the left bank of the Llobregat river to the south of Berga. The local economy is traditionally based on cotton spinning and textile manufacture, although tourism is now more important: the company towns or "colonies" of workers houses surround the cotton mills are of historical interest. Castellar de n'Hug () is a municipality in the ''comarca'' of the Berguedà in Catalonia, Spain. It is situated on the southern slopes of the Pyrenean range of the Creueta.
