The Betar Movement (), also spelled Beitar (), is a Revisionist Zionism, Revisionist Zionist youth movement founded in 1923 in Riga, Latvia, by Ze'ev Jabotinsky, Vladimir (Ze'ev) Jabotinsky. It was one of several right-wing youth movements that arose at that time and adopted special salutes and uniforms influenced by fascism. During World War II, Betar was a source of recruits for both Jewish regiments that fought alongside the British and Jewish groups fighting the British in Mandatory Palestine. Betar was traditionally linked to the original Herut and then Likud political parties of Jewish pioneers, and was closely affiliated with the Revisionist Zionism , Revisionist Zionist militant group Irgun. Nisim Elmaliah
Nisim Elmaliah (; November 11, 1928 – October 24, 1989) was an Israeli footballer who played mainly in the uniform of Beitar Tel Aviv. Elmaliah was known to have particularly strong kick, which helped him to score many goals. Among his achievements, he won the award of the top scorer in the 1954–55 season after scoring 30 goals in 26 games for Beitar Tel Aviv, a record that held until April 11, 2016, when Eran Zahavi broke it. Elmaliah is remembered by a beret that he put on his head at the beginning of his professional career, a relic of his religious and observant. There is also known case in which during a league game he dropped his beret on the opponent's goal. Elmaliah dribbled back, put again the beret and continued to attack his opponents without disturbing the game. The 1947 Palestine Cup (, ''HaGvia HaEretz-Israeli'') was the fifteenth season of Israeli Football Association's nationwide football cup competition, and the last competed before the declaration of independence of Israel. The competition reverted to its previous format, of each round decided with a single match. Maccabi Tel Aviv and Beitar Tel Aviv met at a tempestuous final, which was abandoned at the 88th minute, with Maccabi leading 3–2. After Beitar claimed scoring an equalising goal, which wasn't given, the crowd stormed the pitch and Beitar player Yom-Tov Menasherov took the cup and escaped the pitch with it undetected by the authorities. Hrvatski Nogometni klub Hajduk Split, commonly referred to as Hajduk Split (), is a Croatian professional football club based in Split, that competes in the Croatian First League, the top tier in Croatian football. Since 1979, the club's home ground has been the 33,987-seater Stadion Poljud. The team's traditional home colours are white shirts with blue shorts and blue socks. The idea to form a football club was started by a group of Split students who were studying in Prague. Hapoel (, ) is an Israeli Jewish sports association established in 1926 by the Histadrut Labor Federation. History During the British Mandate of Palestine period Hapoel had a bitter rivalry with Maccabi and organized its own competitions, with the exception of football, the only sport in which all the organizations played each other.
