Basketligaen Norge, better known as BLNO, is a professional men's basketball league in Norway. It was established in 2000 following the rebranding of the former premier division Hovedserien (1974–2000). The competition is organised by the Norwegian Basketball Federation (NBBF). It is played with a regular season and playoff format. Kongsberg Miners, also known as Bergkameratene Basketball, is a professional basketball team based in Kongsberg, Norway, playing in the Norwegian premier professional men's basketball league BLNO. Kongsberg Miners is currently the most successful basketball team in Norway, winning both the regular season and the Norwegian championship in the 2018/2019 season. History The team made their debut in the BLNO in the 2015–16 season. In the 2016–17 BLNO season, 2016–17 season, the team finished the regular season in the first place but failed in the playoffs after being eliminated in the semifinals. In the 2017–18 BLNO season, 2017–18 season, the Miners won the Norwegian championship by beating Asker Aliens in the finals. In 2018, Miners made their debut in European competitions by playing the 2018–19 FIBA Europe Cup, FIBA Europe Cup. They were eliminated by Ukrainian Cherkaski Mavpy in the first qualifying round. Bærum Basket, also known as Bærum Basket Bekkestua, is a professional basketball team based in Bærum, Norway, currently participating in the BLNO, Norway's premier basketball league. It is owned by Knut Ola Staver. The club was founded in the year of 1963 as Bærum Basketball Club, commonly referred to as simply Bærum BBK. Bærum is historically known to be one of the most successful teams in the BLNO, tied with Asker Aliens B.C. for the most league championships. Bærum Basket has won 4 BLNO league championships and 1 Norwegian Cup dating back to the creation of the BLNO league.
