Avon, Hampshire
Sopley is a village and civil parish in the New Forest National Park in Hampshire, England. The village lies on the old main road from Christchurch, Dorset, Christchurch to Ringwood, Hampshire, Ringwood, on the east bank of the River Avon, Hampshire, River Avon. The parish extends east as far as Thorny Hill and includes the hamlets of Shirley, Avon and Ripley. The area is mainly rural with fewer than 300 dwellings. Avon-la-Pèze () is a commune in the Aube department in the Grand Est region of north-central France. Geography Avon-la-Pèze is located some 30 km north-west of Troyes and 17 km south by south-west of Romilly-sur-Seine. Access to the commune is by road D440 from Rigny-la-Nonneuse in the north which passes through the centre of the commune and the village before continuing south to Marcilly-le-Hayer. The D23 comes from Avant-les-Marcilly in the north-west passing west through the commune and the village and continuing to Saint-Lupien in the south-east. The D16 branches off the D23 east of the village and goes north-east to Marigny-le-Châtel. There is the hamlet of La Pezé to the north of the village. Avon () is a commune in the Seine-et-Marne department in the Île-de-France region in north-central France. Geography Avon and Fontainebleau, together with three other smaller communes, form an urban area of 36,713 inhabitants. The two towns share a common boundary, whereas other miscellaneous smaller villages are scattered around in the forest that surrounds them (one of the largest in France). Avon is built between two hills; one of them, known as the Butte Montceau, supports the homonymous neighbourhood, made of small blocks and houses; on the opposite one is built the Fougères neighbourhood, consisting of larger buildings.
