Aikatsu!
is a multimedia franchise spawned from an arcade collectible card game in Bandai's ''Data Carddass'' line of machines, which launched in October 2012. The game revolves around using collectible cards featuring various clothes to help aspiring idols pass auditions. An anime television adaptation by Sunrise began airing on TV Tokyo from October 8, 2012 to March 31, 2016. In 2015, production switched from Sunrise to the studio's subsidiary Bandai Namco Pictures. Four films were released in December 2014, August 2015, August 2016, and January 2023 respectively. Three manga adaptations have been published by Shogakukan, along with four Nintendo 3DS games published by Bandai Namco Games. Aikatsu! The Movie
is a 2014 Japanese animated musical film directed by Yuichiro Yano, with Ryūichi Kimura as chief director and written by Yōichi Katō; the film is based on an anime television series with a same name by Hajime Yatate and Bandai. Produced by Sunrise and distributed by Toei Company, it focuses on Ichigo Hoshimiya and her friends preparing for "Ichigo Hoshimiya Super Live" event. is an arcade collectible card game in Bandai's Data Carddass line of machines, which was launched in May 2016. It is the successor to the '' Aikatsu!'' series of arcade games. The game revolves around using collectible cards featuring various clothes to help aspiring idols pass auditions. An anime television adaptation by BN Pictures began airing on TV Tokyo from April 7, 2016, to March 29, 2018. It was succeeded by '' Aikatsu Friends!'' on April 5, 2018. Plot The series features a girl named Yume Nijino who enrolls at Four Star Academy alongside some of her friends to become a top idol. is an arcade collectible card game in Bandai's Data Carddass line of machines, which launched on April 5, 2018. It is the successor to the '' Aikatsu!'' and '' Aikatsu Stars!'' series of arcade games. The game revolves around using collectible cards featuring various clothes to help aspiring idols pass auditions. An anime television adaptation by BN Pictures aired from April 5, 2018, to September 26, 2019, replacing the ''Aikatsu Stars!'' series. is a Japanese entertainment company owned by Bandai Namco Holdings with its business focused on production, planning, and management of anime.
