Accor S.A. is a French multinational hospitality company that owns, manages and franchises hotels, resorts and vacation properties. It is the largest hospitality company in Europe, and the sixth largest hospitality company worldwide. Accor operates 5,584 locations in over 110 countries. Its total capacity is approximately 821,518 rooms (end 2023). Raffles Hotels & Resorts is a Singaporean chain of luxury hotels which traces its roots to 1887 with the opening of the original Raffles Hotel in Singapore. The company started to develop internationally in the late 1990s. Since 2015, Raffles has been a part of Accor. Ibis Styles is a French budget hotel brand owned by Accor. Created in 1980 in Australia with the name All Seasons, the brand was acquired by Accor in 1999 and renamed Ibis Styles in 2011. Mercure is a French midscale hotel chain owned by Accor. Ibis (stylised as ibis) is a French brand of budget hotels owned by Accor. Created in 1974, Ibis became Accor's "economy megabrand" in 2011 with the rebranding of Ibis Styles and Ibis Budget from All Seasons and Etap Hôtel respectively. Novotel is a French midscale hotel brand owned by Accor. Created in 1967 in France, the company grew into what became the Accor group in 1983, and Novotel remained a pillar brand of Accor's multi-brand strategy. Gérard Pelisson
Gérard Pélisson (9 February 1932 – 6 March 2023) was a French hotelier and businessman who was the co-founder of the Accor Group, and president of the Institut Paul Bocuse. Biography Pelisson obtained his engineering diploma from the École Centrale Paris in 1955 and was a graduate of MIT in Boston. In September 2008, he wrote, together with Paul Dubrule, the history of the adventure of Accor Group published in the Harmony of the Accor Group by Transversales Éditions.
