ASWH Players
ASWH, short for Altijd Sterker Worden Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht, is an association football club from Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht, Netherlands. The club was founded in 1929. It won section championships in 1949, 1959, 1961, 1970, 1883, 1999, 2001, 2002, 2005, and 2024. In 2005 ASWH also won the Dutch Championship of Amateur Soccer and the Dutch Championship of Saturday Soccer. Ascending gradually through the ranks, ASWH played 2019–2022 in the semi-professional Tweede Divisie. In 2023, it joined the Vierde Divisie, after relegating twice for the first time in the club's history. In 2023–2024, ASWH operates 70 teams in competitions. ASWH has won several cups: the KNVB Amateur Cup in 2006 and 2014, the District Cup South I in 2006, 2014, and 2016, and the Dutch Super Cup for Amateurs in 2005 and 2014. The ''Provinciale Zeeuwse Courant'' is a newspaper for the province of Zeeland, Netherlands published and owned by DPG Media of Belgium. Founded in 1758, it is the third-oldest newspaper of the Netherlands. Alkmaar Zaanstreek (), better known internationally as AZ Alkmaar, or simply and most commonly as AZ () in the Netherlands, is a Dutch professional Association football, football club from Alkmaar and the Zaan#The Zaan district, Zaan district. Ido's Football Club, usually known as IFC, is a Dutch association football club from Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht. Its grounds are at Sportpark Schildman. History First years Ido's Football Club was established on 20 October 1927, 2 years before its Saturday football rival ASWH, and initially played football only on Sundays. The establishment was a merger of street soccerclubs, HIVV, OVV and SDW. Its members were for the most part left-oriented blue collar workers. After it was acquired by the Algemeen Dagblad (AD) it is now published as AD Haagse Courant, written by local staff and the AD crew. History The paper appeared as early as 1864 as the Belinfante edition, but remained continuously under the control of the Sijthoff family for over 120 years since Albert Georg Sijthoff in 1883. The Sijthoff publishing company was attacked by car bomb after the newspaper printed a negative article about business activities in the 1980s by a collection agency owned by Dutch criminal Eef Hoos. Nieuw Lekkerland
Nieuw-Lekkerland () is a town in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. It is situated on the southern shores of the Lek River, in the north-west of the Alblasserwaard. The town's name evolved slightly over time: in 1280 Leckerlant, in 1331 Niewe Leckerland, and in 1903 Nieuw Lekkerland. It means "land of or near the river Lek" with the addition of "''nieuw''" ("new") to distinguish it from Old Lekkerland (now Lekkerkerk) across the river. History The name Nieue-Leckelant appears for the first time around 1325. The most notable building used to be Castle Schoonenburg. Oud-Beijerland
Oud-Beijerland () is a town and former municipality in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland, now a part of the Hoeksche Waard municipality. With a population of 24,575 in 2020, it is the most populous town of the Hoeksche Waard island. The town is located adjacent to the confluence of the Oude Maas and Spui River.
