A.S. Roma
Associazione Sportiva Roma (''Rome Sport Association''; Italian pronunciation: ) is a professional football club based in Rome, Italy. Founded by a merger in 1927, Roma has participated in the top tier of Italian football for all of its existence, except for the 1951–52 season. Roma has won Serie A three times, in 1941–42, 1982–83 and 2000–01, as well as nine ' titles and two ' titles. In European competitions, Roma won the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup in 1960–61 and the UEFA Conference League in 2021–22, while they finished runners-up in the 1983–84 European Cup, the 1990–91 UEFA Cup and the 2022–23 UEFA Europa League. S.p.A. or spa ) is a form of corporation in law of Italy, Italy, meaning 'company with shares' (although often translated as 'joint-stock company', which may or may not be a limited liability entity). UEFA Conference League
The UEFA Conference League (UECL), usually known simply as the Conference League, is an annual football competition organised since 2021 by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) for eligible European football clubs. It is the third-tier competition of European club football, ranking below the second-tier UEFA Europa League, and the first-tier UEFA Champions League. Introduced in 2021 as the UEFA Europa Conference League, the competition was initially intended as the bottom level of the UEFA Europa League. Teams from lower-ranked UEFA member associations primarily contest the competition. From the 2024–25 season, the competition was rebranded to the UEFA Conference League, and the group stage was replaced with an expanded league phase of 36 teams. Rudi Völler
Rudolf "Rudi" Völler (; born 13 April 1960) is a German professional football manager and former player, who is currently the director of the Germany national team. In Germany, he is nicknamed "Tante Käthe" ("Aunt Kathy"), a name bestowed upon him by Thomas Berthold, and in Italy, he is nicknamed "Il tedesco volante" ("The flying German") by supporters of Roma. A forward, Völler began his professional career at Kickers Offenbach, before joining 1860 Munich, and he was top scorer of the 2. Bundesliga in the 1981–82 season. He went on to play for Werder Bremen, where he was noted for his consistent goalscoring, becoming the top scorer of the Bundesliga in the 1982–83 season. Bruno Conti
Bruno Conti (; born 13 March 1955) is an Italian football manager and former player. He is currently head of AS Roma's youth sector. Throughout his playing career, Conti was usually deployed as a winger, and also previously played for Roma, where he spent his entire club career, aside from two season-long loan spells with Genoa in the 1970s. He is considered by many in the sport to be one of the greatest Italian players of all time in his position. Nicknamed "The Mayor of Rome", Conti was an important figure in the club's history, and won a league title as well as five Coppa Italia titles during his time in the Italian capital. Pietro Serantoni (; 12 December 1906 – 6 October 1964) was an Italian football midfielder and manager. Aldo Donati (footballer)
Aldo Donati (29 September 1910 – 3 November 1984) was an Italian footballer who played as a midfielder. Club career Born in Bologna, he played in the 1930s for Bologna and Roma. He played 201 matches in Serie A and scored 4 goals. He debuted in Serie A at 19 years of age and played for eight seasons for Bologna, winning the ''scudetto'' in 1936 and 1937, as well as the Mitropa Cup. The following year he was acquired by Roma where he played seven seasons. In 1942 he won his third ''scudetto'' (Roma's first) before retiring. After the Second World War, he later also played a season with Inter between 1945–46. Eraldo Monzeglio
Eraldo Monzeglio (; 5 June 1906 – 3 November 1981) was an Italian association football coach and player, who played as a defender, in the position of full-back. Monzeglio had a highly successful career as a footballer, although he also later attracted controversy due to his close relationship with the Italian fascist dictator Benito Mussolini. At club level, he played for Casale, Bologna, and Roma, winning the Serie A title and two editions of the Mitropa Cup with Bologna. At international level, he also had success representing the Italy national football team, and was a member of the Italian teams that won consecutive FIFA World Cup titles in 1934 and 1938, being named to the tournament's All-star Team in 1934; he also won two editions of the Central European International Cup with Italy. Guido Masetti
Guido Masetti (; 22 November 1907 – 26 November 1993) was an Italian football goalkeeper and manager. Club career Born in Verona, Masetti played for Hellas Verona, and A.S. Roma from 1929 to 1943, appearing in 339 matches, winning an Italian title in the 1941–42 season. International career Masetti was considered in the 1930s and 1940s to be one of the strongest goalkeepers, but as a member for the Italy national team he was merely used as a stand-in for Gianpiero Combi and Aldo Olivieri. The team won the World Cups of 1934 and 1938 without Masetti playing in any of the matches. Managerial career In 1950s, he was manager of A.S. Enrique Guaita
Enrique Guaita (; 11 July 1910 – 18 May 1959), also known as Enrico Guaita (), was an Italian Argentine footballer who played for both Argentina and Italy as a forward. He helped win the 1933–35 Central European International Cup & the World Cup in 1934 with Italy. He played most of his footballing career in Argentina with Estudiantes and Racing Club, but also played in Italy with Roma where he was nicknamed ''Il Corsaro Nero''. Club career Guaita played for Estudiantes de La Plata, where he was part of the famous attack ''Los Profesores''. In 1934, he moved to Italy, where he probably played his best football. Attilio Ferraris
Attilio Ferraris (; 26 March 1904 – 8 May 1947) was an Italian footballer who played as a defensive midfielder. Club career Ferraris played ten seasons (254 games, two goals) in the Serie A, for AS Roma, SS Lazio and AS Bari. International career With the Italy national team, Ferraris won the bronze medal at the 1928 Olympics, but he did not play in any matches. He was playing in the 1927–30 Central European International Cup winning gold & in the 1931–32 Central European International Cup winning silver. He was also a very important part of the World Cup winning team of 1934, making it to the tournament's All-Star Team for his performances. The 2022–23 UEFA Europa League was the 52nd season of Europe's secondary club football tournament organised by UEFA, and the 14th season since it was renamed from the UEFA Cup to the UEFA Europa League.
