2019 Sudirman Cup
The 2019 Sudirman Cup (officially known as the 2019 Total BWF Sudirman Cup for sponsorship reasons) was the 16th edition of the Sudirman Cup, the biennial international badminton championship contested by the mixed national teams of the member associations of Badminton World Federation (BWF), since its inception in 1989. The tournament was played in Nanning, China, between 19 and 26 May 2019. Korea national badminton team, Korea is the defending champion. China national badminton team, China defeated Japan national badminton team, Japan 3–0 in the final to win the tournament. Host city selection Nanning was the only bidder for this event. Sawan Serasinghe
Sawan Serasinghe (born 21 February 1994) is a former badminton player from Australia. He won seven Oceania Championships titles, five in the men's doubles and two in the mixed doubles. Serasinghe competed in the men's doubles event at the 2016 Summer Olympics alongside Matthew Chau. Career Serasinghe started playing badminton since the age of five, he was born in Galle, Sri Lanka, and moved to Australia when he was 11 years old. He trains at the National Training Centre in Melbourne, and took out back-to-back Oceania Championships titles with Chau in 2015 and 2016. The 22-year-old also won the 2014 Sydney International Challenge mixed doubles with Setyana Mapasa, against some of the best players in the world. Hannan District ( zh, s=, t=, p=Hànnán Qū) is one of 13 urban districts of the prefecture-level city of Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province, China. Uchechukwu Deborah Ukeh
Uchechukwu Deborah Ukeh (born 12 November 1996) is a Nigerian badminton player. In 2014, she competed at the African Youth Games, and won two gold medals in the girls' doubles and mixed team event. In 2016, she was the women's singles runner-up at the Ivory Coast International, and won the mixed doubles title partnered with Gideon Babalola. In 2017, she and Babalola reached the final round at the Ivory Coast International, but finished in second place. Ukeh also was the runner-up at the Benin International tournament in the women's singles and doubles events. At the national event, Ukeh who represented Edo State, was the women's singles and doubles runner-up at the Katsina Golden Star Badminton Championships. Koceila Julien Mammeri (; born 23 February 1999) is a badminton player who trained at the Oullins club in France. Born in France, he represents Algeria internationally. In the junior event, he was the third place at the Portugal International tournament in the boys' doubles event. He won gold medals at the 2017, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 African Championships for men's doubles with his partner Youcef Sabri Medel, and in 2018 and 2019 for mixed doubles with Linda Mazri, and also in 2021 and 2022 for mixed doubles with Tanina Mammeri. Dorcas Ajoke Adesokan (born 5 July 1998) is a Nigerian badminton player. She showed her talent at a young age, by winning two gold medals at the 2014 African Youth Games. In 2019, she won the women's singles and doubles titles at the African Championships. She competed in the 2020 Summer Olympics, by achieving the best women's singles ranking on the African continent in the Race to Tokyo rankings.
