2018–19 Big 12 Conference Men's Basketball Season
The 2018–19 Big 12 men's basketball season began with practices in October 2018, followed by the start of the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season in November. Regular season conference play began in December 2018 and concluded in March 2018. Kansas State and Texas Tech won a share of the regular season Big 12 Championship, ending the streak of 14 consecutive conference titles for Kansas. The Big 12 tournament was held from March 13 through 16 at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri. Iowa State defeated Kansas in the Big 12 tournament championship game to receive the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. The 2018–19 Kansas Jayhawks men's basketball team represented the University of Kansas in the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season, which was the Jayhawks' 121st basketball season. Billy Eugene Self Jr. (born December 27, 1962) is an American basketball coach who is the head coach of the Kansas Jayhawks men's basketball, Kansas Jayhawks men's basketball team. Self has held various coaching roles at the collegiate level and has been the coach of the Jayhawks since 2003. Murray State Racers Men's Basketball
The Murray State Racers men's basketball program represents Murray State University in intercollegiate men's basketball. Murray State is a member of the Missouri Valley Conference in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), having joined that conference in 2022 after 74 seasons in the Ohio Valley Conference. Steve Prohm
Steven Marshall Prohm (born July 12, 1974) is an American basketball coach who most recently served as the head coach at Murray State University from 2022 to 2025. Previously, he was the head coach at Iowa State University, a position he had held from 2015 to 2021. Prohm served in the same capacity at Murray State from 2011 to 2015. Early life A native of Vienna, Virginia, Prohm's family later moved to Dalton, Georgia, where Prohm attended high school at Northwest Whitfield High School in Tunnel Hill, Georgia and lettered in basketball for three years, graduating in 1992. The Valparaiso Beacons men's basketball team represents Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana. The basketball team competes in the Missouri Valley Conference, having joined that league in 2017 after 10 seasons in the Horizon League. Scott Drew
Scott Homer Drew (born October 23, 1970) is an American college basketball coach who is the head coach at Baylor Bears men's basketball, Baylor University, a position he has held since 2003. Drew began his coaching career as an assistant for Valparaiso Beacons men's basketball, Valparaiso under his father Homer Drew. Following his father's retirement in 2002, Drew would serve as the head coach of Valparaiso for one season before being hired by Baylor in 2003. Drew took over Baylor as a program in ruins, following decades of mediocre-to-poor performance and a Baylor University basketball scandal, public scandal that resulted in numerous NCAA sanctions.
