Delaware's state elections were held on November 8, 2016. All 41 seats of the Delaware House of Representatives, 11 seats (out of 21) of the Delaware Senate, as well as the offices of Governor of Delaware, Lieutenant Governor of Delaware, and the State Insurance commissioner, were up for election. The Delaware Democratic Party (DelDems) is the affiliate of the Democratic Party (United States), Democratic Party in the U.S. state of Delaware. It is headquartered in New Castle County, Delaware, New Castle County and chaired by Erik Raser-Schramm. David Sokola
David P. Sokola (born July 28, 1955) is an American politician and a Democratic member of the Delaware Senate since 1991, representing District 8. He earned a BS from the University of Delaware. Delaware's 8th Senate district is one of 21 districts in the Delaware Senate. It has been represented by Democratic Party (United States), Democrat David Sokola since 1990. Geography District 8 is based in Newark, Delaware, Newark – the state's third-largest city – and also covers parts of Hockessin, Delaware, Hockessin and North Star, Delaware, North Star. Like all districts in the state, the 8th Senate district is located entirely within Delaware's at-large congressional district. It overlaps with the 12th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd, and 25th districts of the Delaware House of Representatives. The district borders Maryland to the west and Pennsylvania along the Twelve-Mile Circle. Anthony Delcollo
Anthony Delcollo (born 1985) is an American politician. He is a former Republican member of the Delaware Senate representing District 7. Early life and education Delcollo was born in Marshallton Heights in 1985 to Daniel and Barbara Delcollo. He attended high school at Salesianum School and is an Eagle Scout. Delcollo then attended La Salle University and then earned his Juris Doctor from Seton Hall University School of Law. Political career Delcollo was elected to the Delaware Senate in 2016 after defeating incumbent Democrat Patricia Blevins by 282 votes (50.55% to 49.45%). Patricia "Patti" Blevins is an American politician and the former President pro tempore of the Delaware Senate. A Democrat, she represented the 7th district from 1990 until 2016, when she lost her reelection campaign by 282 votes.
