Thomas Vinterberg
Thomas Vinterberg (; born 19 May 1969) is a Danish film director who, along with Lars von Trier, co-founded the Dogme 95 movement in filmmaking, which established rules for simplifying movie production. He is best known for the films '' The Celebration'' (1998), '' Submarino'' (2010), '' The Hunt'' (2012), '' Far from the Madding Crowd'' (2015), and '' Another Round'' (2020). Kim Leine
Kim Leine Rasmussen (b. 28 August 1961 in Seljord, Telemark, Norway) is a Danish-Norwegian author who writes predominantly about Greenland. His books have been translated into twenty languages and won several prestigious literary prizes. His novel ''The Prophets of Eternal Fjord'' won six literature prizes in 2012 and 2013. Personal life He spent his childhood years in the Norwegian village of Seljord, where the family was characterized by their Jehovah's Witness faith. In 1978 he moved to Denmark, where he lived with his father for five years. He then trained as a nurse at Bispebjerg Nursing School in 1987. In 1989 he moved with his wife to Greenland, where they lived for 3 years in Nuuk and later in East Greenland and Langeland. In 2000 he was divorced and in 2004 he returned to Denmark. ''The Act of Killing'' (, ) is a 2012 documentary film directed by Joshua Oppenheimer, with Christine Cynn and an anonymous Indonesian co-directing. The film follows individuals who participated in the Indonesian mass killings of 1965–66, wherein alleged communists and people opposed to the New Order regime were tortured and killed, with the killers, many becoming gangsters, still in power throughout the country. The film was mostly filmed in Medan, North Sumatra, following the executioner Anwar Congo and his acquaintances as they, upon Oppenheimer's request, re-enact their killings and talk about their actions openly, also following Congo's psychological journey facing the topic. Joshua Lincoln Oppenheimer (born September 23, 1974) is an American film director based in Copenhagen, Denmark. He is known for his Oscar-nominated films '' The Act of Killing'' (2012) and ''The Look of Silence'' (2014). Oppenheimer was a 1997 Marshall Scholar and a 2014 recipient of the MacArthur fellowship. 26th European Film Awards
The 26th European Film Awards were presented on 7 December 2013 in Berlin, Germany. The winners were selected by over 2,500 members of the European Film Academy. Nordic Council Film Prize
The Nordic Council Film Prize is an annual film prize administered by the Nordic Council. The Nordisk Film & TV Fond is the funding body that administers the prize. History The first award was handed out in 2002 to celebrate the Nordic Council's 50th anniversary. Since 2005 the prize has been annual.
