2011–12 LEB Oro Season
The 2011–12 LEB Oro season is the 16th season of the Liga Española de Baloncesto. It's named too Adecco Oro by sponsorship reasons. The 306-game regular season (34 games for each of the 18 teams) will begin on Friday, September 23, 2010, and will end on Friday, April 27, 2011. The champion of the regular season will be promoted to Liga ACB. The teams between 2nd and 9th position will play a best of 5 games play off, where the winner will be promoted too to the higher division. The teams 16th and 17th will play a best of 5 games play-out where the loser will be relegated to LEB Plata, with the 18th team. Competition format Eligibility of players All teams must have in their roster: *A minimum of six players who played in Spain during three season being between 15 and 20 years old. *A maximum of two non-EU players. Liga Española De Baloncesto
The Primera FEB, formerly known as LEB or LEB Oro, is the second basketball division of the Spanish basketball league system after the Liga ACB. It is run by the FEB. The FEB leagues are divided into three categories (the other two are the Segunda FEB and the Tercera FEB). The league was founded in 1996 and is played under FIBA rules. The league is contested by 18 clubs. Each season, the top-finishing team in the Primera FEB are automatically promoted to the Liga ACB. The teams that finish the season in 2nd to 9th place enter a playoff tournament, with the winner also gaining promotion to the Liga ACB. The three lowest-finishing teams in the Primera FEB are relegated to Segunda FEB. A total of 81 teams have competed in Primera FEB since its inception in 1996. 19 teams have been crowned champions and 30 teams have gained promotion to Liga ACB, of which only four teams could not play in Liga ACB. Club Baloncesto León was a basketball team, based in León, Spain. History Early years (1981-1988) Baloncesto León was founded by José Antonio Moirón García, Enrique Emperador Marcos, Juan Carlos Rodríguez Villanueva, Lisardo Mourelo González and Alberto Sobrín Martínez in León, Spain, León on 20 May 1981. The Tercera FEB, formerly known as Liga EBA (''Liga Española de Baloncesto Aficionado''), is a Spanish basketball championship that is the fourth tier level in the Spanish basketball league system, after the Liga ACB, Primera FEB and Segunda FEB. It is administered by the Spanish Basketball Federation, FEB. It was previously the Spanish second tier level competition from 1994 to 1996, the third tier level from 1996 to 2000, and the fifth tier level, from 2007 to 2009. Club Bàsquet Mallorquí, also known as Bàsquet Mallorca was a professional basketball team based in Inca, Balearic Islands, Spain. History Bàsquet Mallorca was founded in 2008 as a merger of two teams from Balearic Islands: * Club Bàsquet Inca (former LEB Oro team) *Club Bàsquet Muro (former LEB Plata team) The team started playing in LEB Oro, but in the summer of 2010 they were relegated to LEB Plata because of not submitting all documentation on time. Club Baloncesto Clavijo is a professional Basketball team based in Logroño, La Rioja. The team currently plays in league LEB Oro. History Founded in 1967, CB Clavijo started their first years playing in the provincial league and after achieving several promotions, reaches the Segunda División, third tier, in 1977. Palencia Baloncesto, officially named as Super Agropal Palencia, is a Spanish professional basketball team based in Palencia, Castile and León. The team currently plays in league Primera FEB. History The club was founded in 1979 at Colegio Marista of Palencia, with the aim to support farm teams competing at provincial and regional tournaments.
