The 2011–12 Atlantic Coast Conference men's basketball season is the 59th season for the league. Preseason The conference hosted its 50th annual media event, "Operation Basketball", on October 19 at the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Charlotte, North Carolina. At this event, the ACC media votes on how they believe each team will finish in the conference, the preseason All-ACC team, the preseason Player of the Year, and the preseason Rookie of the Year. 2011–12 NC State Wolfpack Men's Basketball Team
The 2011–12 NC State Wolfpack men's basketball team represented NC State University in the 2011–12 men's college basketball season. The team was led by Mark Gottfried and played its home games at the RBC Center in Raleigh, NC as members of the Atlantic Coast Conference. They finished the season 24-13 overall, 9-7 in ACC play, finishing in a three-way tie for fourth place. As a No. 5 seed in the 2012 ACC men's basketball tournament, they defeated Boston College in the first round and Virginia in the quarterfinals before falling to North Carolina in the semi-finals. Nicholas David Jordan Faust (born February 25, 1993) is an American professional basketball player for Pioneros de Los Mochis for the Circuito de Baloncesto de la Costa del Pacífico (CIBACOPA). Austin James Rivers (born August 1, 1992) is an American former professional basketball player who is currently a sports analyst for ESPN. He played for 11 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA).
