2010–11 I-League
The 2010–11 I-League was the fourth season of the I-League, which was the highest football league competition in India during the time. It ran from 3 December 2010 to May 2011. Dempo are the defending champions. On 30 May 2011 Salgaocar won the title by beating JCT 2–0 in the final match of the season. Teams Sporting Clube de Goa and Shillong Lajong FC were relegated at the end of the 2009–10 season after finishing in the bottom two places of the table. They were replaced by 2010 Second Division champions ONGC FC and runners-up HAL SC. In other team changes, Mahindra United were disbanded at the end of the 2009–10 season to concentrate on youth football. I-League
The I-League is the men's second professional football division of the Indian football league system behind the Indian Super League. Administered by the All India Football Federation, it is currently contested by 13 clubs. It operates as a system of promotion and relegation with the Indian Super League (ISL) and the I-League 2. The competition was founded in 2007 as the successor to the National Football League, with the first season starting in November 2007. The league was launched as India's first top-tier professional football league with the aim to increase the player pool for the India national team. I-League operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the I-League 2 and at first only promotion system with the ISL, from the 2022–23 season. Since the inception of the I-League, a total of ten clubs have been crowned champions. Dempo have won the most titles in league history, being crowned champions three times. Salgaocar SC
Salgaocar Football Club (formerly Salgaocar Sporting Club) is an Indian professional Association football, football club based in Vasco da Gama, Goa, Vasco, Goa. Being one of the country's most successful clubs, it is currently operating youth teams. Until the disfunction of its senior team in June 2023, Salgaocar competed in the Goa Professional League. Salgaocar previously competed in the I-League, then top-flight of the Indian football league system. Founded in 1956, and nicknamed "The Greens", the club is owned by V. M. Salgaocar Group of Companies. Salgaocar has won 21 Goa championships, 4 Indian Federation Cup, Federation Cups, 3 Durand Cups, 3 Rovers Cups, 2 Indian Super Cup (1997–2011), Indian Super Cups and the National Football League (India), National Football League in 1999, and the I-League in 2011.
