Shekhar Dutt
Shekhar Dutt is a retired Indian civil servant who served as governor of the Indian state of Chhattisgarh. Earlier he had served on various bureaucratic posts including, as an IAS officer, as Secretary in the Ministry of Defence of the Government of India. Career Dutt belongs to the 1969 batch of IAS from Madhya Pradesh cadre. Dutt became a short service commission officer in the Indian Army. He was awarded the Sena Medal for gallantry while serving with 218 Medium Regiment during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. He held various posts in the Madhya Pradesh government, including Principal Secretary in the Department of Tribal and Scheduled Caste Welfare and Principal Secretary, Departments of School Education, Sports & Youth Welfare. Kateekal Sankaranarayanan
Kateekal Sankaranarayanan (15 October 1932 – 24 April 2022) was the governor of the Indian state of Maharashtra. He had also served as the governor of Nagaland and Jharkhand. Prior to his appointment as governor, he had served as a minister in several Congress led governments of Kerala headed by Chief Ministers A K Antony and K. Karunakaran. On 24 August 2014, he was transferred by the NDA government to Mizoram. Sankaranarayanan was also asked to assume the additional charge of Arunachal Pradesh during the absence on leave of S K Singh. The swear-in ceremony was held on 7 April 2007. When Singh was appointed Governor of Rajasthan on 19 August 2007, Sankaranarayanan was also appointed Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, and he was sworn in on 4 September 2007. Governor Of Jharkhand
The governor of Jharkhand is the nominal head of the India, Indian state of Jharkhand. The governor is appointed by the president of India. Narinder Nath Vohra
Narinder Nath Vohra (born 5May1936), popularly referred as N. N. Vohra, is a retired 1959batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Punjab cadre who was the 12thgovernor of the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. He was the first civilian governor of Jammu and Kashmir in eighteenyears after Jagmohan. As an IAS officer, Vohra has also served as Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister of India, Home Secretary of India, Defence Secretary of India and Defence Production Secretary of India. From February2003 until he became the governor of the state, Vohra had been the Government of India's interlocutor in Jammu and Kashmir. Governor Of Jammu And Kashmir
The governor of Jammu and Kashmir was the head of the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. When India became independent, Hari Singh was the Maharaja of the Princely State of Jammu and Kashmir. Technically he remained so until 17 November 1952, although from 20 June 1949 his son Karan Singh acted as regent. From 17 November 1952 to 30 March 1965, Karan Singh was the elected as the Sadr-e-Riyasat of the State of Jammu and Kashmir. On 30 March 1965, Karan Singh became the first governor of Jammu and Kashmir. The office of governor was abolished after the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019 was passed in August 2019 in the Parliament of India, reorganising the state of Jammu and Kashmir into two union territories, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, on 31 October 2019. Urmila Singh
Urmila Singh (6 August 1946 – 29 May 2018) was an Indian politician who served as the Governor of Himachal Pradesh from 25 January 2010 to 28 January 2015. Early life Urmila Singh was born in Phingeshwar village in Raipur district, now located in Chhattisgarh state, into a landowning family of central India, which also produced freedom fighters and social reformers. Urmila's great-grandfather, Raja Natwar Singh (alias Lalla Shah) of Haridaypur, was a freedom fighter, who was executed by the British rulers. Some other family members were deported to serve sentences in the Andaman and Nicobar islands. Urmila Singh was married at a young age to Virendra Bahadur Singh, Raja of Seraipally princely state in Chhattisgarh. Prabha Rau (4 March 1935 – 26 April 2010) was an Indian politician and the Governor of Rajasthan state of India when she died. She was appointed Governor of Rajasthan after she was transferred from Governor of Himachal Pradesh after Urmila Singh took charge on 25 Jan 2010 at Shimla. Jagannath Pahadia (15 January 1932 – 19 May 2021) was an Indian politician and a leader of the Indian National Congress party. He was the former Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Governor of Haryana, and Governor of Bihar. He died on 19 May 2021 from COVID-19. Kamla Beniwal (Hindi pronunciation: əmlaː beːn̪iːʋaːl 12 January 1927 – 15 May 2024) was an Indian independence activist and veteran politician who served as the deputy chief minister of Rajasthan. A leader of the Indian National Congress, she was the first female minister and held cabinet ministerial positions in the state government of Rajasthan for more than two decades between 1980 and 2003.
