2009–10 UCI Track Cycling World Cup Classics
The 2009–10 UCI Track Cycling World Cup Classics is a multi race tournament over a season of track cycling. The season ran from 30 October 2009 to 24 January 2010. The World Cup was organised by the Union Cycliste Internationale. The World Cup kicked off in Manchester, Great Britain, then moved to Melbourne, Australia, from 19 to 21 November. As in the previous season, there were also rounds at the Alcides Nieto Patiño Velodrome in Cali, Colombia, from 10 to 11 December 2009, and in Beijing, China, from 22 to 24 January 2010. Unlike previous year, there was no World Cup event in Copenhagen, Denmark, but that was the venue for the 2010 UCI Track Cycling World Championships, which took place from 24 to 28 March. The UCI Track Cycling World Cup (formerly known as the UCI Track Cycling World Cup Classics) was a multi race tournament held over a track cycling season - usually between October and February. Each series is divided into several rounds, each held in a different country. It was replaced in 2021 by the UCI Track Cycling Nations Cup. Format The UCI Track Cycling World Cup is a key event within the Track Cycling calendar, with only the UCI Track Cycling World Championships, World Championships and the Cycling at the Summer Olympics, Olympic Games attracting more UCI Track Cycling World Ranking, World Ranking points. The series is open to national teams and registered trade teams who compete over a number of track cycling disciplines. Maximilian Levy
Maximilian Levy (born 26 June 1987) is a German former track cyclist. Levy won a bronze medal in the men's team sprint representing Germany at the 2008 Olympic Games held in Beijing, China. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he won another bronze in the men's team sprint, and a silver in the men's keirin. He was the world champion in keirin 2009 and in the team sprint 2010, 2011, and 2013. Levy retired from competition after the conclusion of the 2021 UCI Track Champions League in December of that year. Maxim Polischuk (; born 15 June 1984, in Zhytomyr) is a retired Ukrainian amateur track cyclist. He won the bronze medal in men's team pursuit at the 2006 UCI Track Cycling World Championships in Bordeaux, France, and later represented his nation Ukraine at the 2008 Summer Olympics. Andrew David Tennant (born 9 March 1987) is an English former professional track and road racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2009 and 2021 for six different teams. During his career, Tennant won seven medals at the UCI Track Cycling World Championships, six gold medals at the UEC European Track Championships and a silver medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
