144 (number)
144 (one hundred [and] forty-four) is the natural number following 143 (number), 143 and preceding 145 (number), 145. It is coincidentally both the Square number, square of twelve (a dozen dozens, or one Gross (unit), gross) and the twelfth Fibonacci number, and the only Triviality (mathematics), nontrivial number in the sequence that is square. Mathematics 144 is a highly totient number. 144 is the smallest number whose fifth Power (mathematics), power is a sum of four (smaller) fifth powers. This solution was found in 1966 by L. J. Lander and T. R. Parkin, and disproved Euler's sum of powers conjecture. It was famously published in a paper by both authors, whose body consisted of only two sentences: It is also a square (12·12=144). In other fields * 1:144 scale is a scale used for some scale models. * Several computers use 144Hz. References * Wells, D. ''The Penguin Dictionary of Curious and Interesting Numbers''. 144 (video Game)
''The Path'' is a psychological horror art game developed by Tale of Tales originally released for the Microsoft Windows operating system on March 18, 2009, in English and Dutch, and later ported to Mac OS X by TransGaming Technologies. It is inspired by several versions of the fairy tale '' Little Red Riding Hood'', and by folklore tropes and conventions in general, but set in contemporary times. The player can choose to control one of six different sisters, who are sent one-by-one on errands by their mother to see their sick grandmother. The player can choose whether to stay on the path or to wander, where wolves are lying in wait. Gameplay According to the developer, the game is not meant to be played in the traditional sense, in that there is no winning strategy. In fact, much of the gameplay requires the player to choose the losing path for the sisters to run into encounters which they (and the player) are meant to experience. Even the story narratives are not typical f ...

Volvo 140 Series
The Volvo 140 Series is a line of mid-size cars manufactured and marketed by Volvo from 1966 to 1974 in two- and four-door sedan (models 142 and 144 respectively) as well as five-door station wagon (model 145) body styles, with numerous intermediate facelifts. More than a million Volvo 140s were built in 8 years. Introduction Volvo Cars began manufacturing the Volvo 144 at Torslandaverken in the late summer of 1966 for the 1967 model year. The 144 series, which followed the Volvo Amazon (120 series, outside of Sweden), was the first Volvo to use a tri-digit nomenclature, where the first digit indicated series, second digit indicated the number of cylinders, and third digit indicated the number of doors. Thus, a "144" was a first series, 4-cylinder, 4-door sedan. The 144 was the first Volvo to feature a more rectilinear or boxy styling. Compared to the Volvo Amazon, the 140 was a radical departure with minimal exterior and interior carryover, notably a stylised version of the ...

It was discovered on 3 June 1875, by German–American astronomer Christian Peters at Litchfield Observatory of the Hamilton College in Clinton, New York, United States. Peters named it after Vibilia, the Roman goddess of traveling, because he had recently returned from a journey across the world to observe the transit of Venus. Peters also discovered 145 Adeona on the same night. The official naming citation was published by Paul Herget in '' The Names of the Minor Planets'' in 1955 ().
