10K Runs
The 10K run is a long-distance running, long-distance road running competition over a distance of . Also referred to as the 10K road race, 10 km, or simply 10K, it is one of the most common types of road running event, alongside the shorter 5K run, 5K and longer half marathon and marathon. It is usually distinguished from the 10,000 metres track running event by stating the distance in kilometres, rather than metres. As one of the shortest common road distances, many 10K races attract high levels of public participation. Berihu Aregawi Teklehaimanot (; born 28 February 2001) is an Ethiopian Long-distance running, long-distance runner and the current world record holder in the 5K run, 5000 m road race and the 10K run, 10,000 m road race. At the Paris 2024 Olympics, Berihu won a silver medal in the 10,000 metres, 10,000 m, and he placed fourth in the 10,000 m at the Athletics at the 2020 Summer Olympics, 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Berihu won a silver medal at the 2023 World Athletics Cross Country Championships – Senior men's race, 2023 World Athletics Cross Country Championships. He also won a silver medal in the 2025 World Athletics Indoor Championships – Men's 3000 metres, 3,000 m at the 2025 World Athletics Indoor Championships, 2025 World Athletics Indoor Championships.
