Break The Bank (1985 Game Show)
''Break the Bank'' is a game show created by Richard S. Kline. It aired in syndication from September 16, 1985 to June 20, 1986, with repeats airing until September 12. It was not related to two previous shows by the same name. The series debuted with Gene Rayburn as host, with Joe Farago taking over in December 1985. Kandace Kuehl was the co-host for the first three shows and was then replaced afterward with 1983 Miss USA winner Julie Hayek. Voice-over artist Michael Hanks was the announcer. Originally, Rayburn was supposed to host a revival of his hit signature game show ''Match Game'' in order to be paired up with ''The Price Is Right'' hosted by Tom Kennedy, but it was scrapped as reruns of the 1979–82 daily version aired in its place instead. Barry & Enright Productions (also known as either Jack Barry-Dan Enright Productions or Jack Barry & Dan Enright Productions and known as Barry, Enright & Friendly Productions) was a United States television production company that was formed in 1947 by Jack Barry and Dan Enright. ''Break the Bank'' is an American game show created by Jack Barry and Dan Enright and produced by their production company, Barry & Enright Productions. It was the first game show packaged by Barry and Enright as a tandem since their fall from grace following the 1950s quiz show scandals. The show aired in the spring and summer of 1976 as an ABC daytime series hosted by Tom Kennedy, and in weekly syndication during the 1976–1977 season, hosted by creator-producer Barry. Game play ''Break the Bank'' featured nine celebrities, and pitted one male and one female contestant against one another (similar to ''The Hollywood Squares'').
