Brazilian Motorcycle Grand Prix
The Brazilian motorcycle Grand Prix was a motorcycling road racing event that is part of the Grand Prix motorcycle racing World Championship. History The first official Brazilian Grand Prix was held in 1987 at the Autódromo Internacional Ayrton Senna in Goiânia. Two more races were hosted in the following years until the race was removed from the 1990 calendar due to organisational problems. The event was supposed to return in 1991 in the month of September, but was scrapped in August because of safety concerns of the circuit. In 1992, the Brazilian GP returned after a two-year absence. Due to Bernie Ecclestone's increased involvement of grand prix motorcycle racing at this time, the selected venue to host the race was the Autódromo José Carlos Pace in São Paulo instead of the previously used circuit in Goiânia. 1989 Brazilian Motorcycle Grand Prix
The 1989 Brazilian motorcycle Grand Prix was the last round of the 1989 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season. It took place on the weekend of 15–17 September 1989 at the Goiânia circuit. 500 cc race report Wayne Rainey has to win and Eddie Lawson has to finish outside the top 11 in order for Lawson to lose the championship. Kevin Schwantz
Kevin Schwantz (born June 19, 1964) is an American former professional motorcycle road racer. He was the world champion of the 1993 FIM Road Racing World Championship. Early life Schwantz, whose parents owned a motorcycle shop, learned to ride at the age of four. He began his competitive career as a trials rider, following his father and Uncle, Darryl Hurst (the original 34), in that sport. From trials, he progressed to motocross in his teens, becoming a top regional MX racer. After a serious crash in qualifying for the Houston Supercross in 1983, he decided to quit motocross. Career At the end of the 1984 season, he was offered a test ride with the Yoshimura Suzuki Superbike team, who promptly signed the Texan to a contract. 1992 Brazilian Motorcycle Grand Prix
The 1992 Brazilian motorcycle Grand Prix was the penultimate round of the 1992 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season. It took place on the weekend of 21–23 August 1992 at Interlagos. 500 cc race report Riders were concerned about the track surface and bumpiness; with Michael Scott, Wayne Rainey, Eddie Lawson and Mick Doohan all against racing (which would have decided the championship for Doohan), but the race went on anyway.Scott, Michael: "Wayne Rainey", page 171. Dirk Raudies
Dirk Raudies (born June 17, 1964) is a German former Grand Prix motorcycle road racer, specialising in 125cc. Born in Biberach an der Riß, Germany, his greatest success on the racetrack came in 1993 when he won the 125cc Grand Prix world championship on a Honda RS125R. Since 2004, Raudies has been a television motorsport commentator at Eurosport. From 2004 - 2008 he commentated alongside Ron Ringguth for MotoGP and since 2009 for Superbike World Championship with Lenz Leberkern. 2022 MotoGP World Championship
The 2022 FIM MotoGP World Championship was the premier class of the 74th F.I.M. Road Racing World Championship season. Fabio Quartararo came into the season as the defending World Champion. Ducati secured the constructors' championship, with the factory Ducati Lenovo Team securing the teams' championship and factory rider Francesco Bagnaia achieving the riders' championship.
