Birdhill Railway Station
Birdhill railway station serves the town of Birdhill in County Tipperary, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. The station opened on 23 July 1860 as an extension from Castleconnell by the Limerick and Castleconnell Railway. The line was extended to Killaloe on 12 April 1862 and became a junction when the line was further extended from Birdill to Nenagh on 1 June 1864 by the Great Southern & Western Railway creating a through route to Limerick via Ballybrophy. The line to Killaloe lost its passenger services on 17 July 1931 and goods traffics suspended on 29 April 1944 as a Emergency measure by the Great Southern Railways. It is on the Limerick–Ballybrophy railway line and is also served by a skeleton service on the Limerick Suburban Rail, Limerick to Nenagh Commuter Service. Nenagh Railway Station
Nenagh railway station serves the town of Nenagh and surrounding area in County Tipperary, in the Mid-West Region of Ireland. The station is located on Martyrs Road, Tyone, Nenagh. It opened on the 5th of October 1863 and is on the Limerick-Ballybrophy railway line, located between Birdhill railway station and Cloughjordan railway station. Passengers can connect at Ballybrophy to trains heading northeast to Dublin or southwest to Cork or Tralee. The buildings consist of a two-storey station house with a platform canopy supported on cast iron columns, a goods shed and a disused cast iron footbridge. The station is unstaffed and has a car park and sheltered bicycle parking. North Tipperary County Council ( ga, Comhairle Contae Thiobraid Árann Thuaidh) was the authority responsible for local government in the county of North Tipperary, Ireland. The council had 21 elected members. The head of the council had the title of Mayor. The county town was Nenagh. Originally North Tipperary County Council held its meetings in Nenagh Courthouse. Iarnród Éireann () or Irish Rail, is the operator of the national railway network of Ireland. Established on 2 February 1987, it is a subsidiary of Córas Iompair Éireann (CIÉ).
