Ben Ellis (playwright)
Ben Ellis is a playwright from Gippsland in Australia, now based in both London and Melbourne. His significant works include ''Post Felicity'' (2001), ''Falling Petals'' (2002), a stage adaptation of Franz Kafka's ''The Metamorphosis'' (2005), and more recently ''Poet No. 7'' (2006) and ''The Final Shot'' (Theatre503, 2007), both premiering in London. ''The Final Shot'', about the television broadcast of a man's death, featured Susannah York. His latest play, The Captive, explores the folklore surrounding the supposed capture of a white woman by aboriginal people in East Gippsland. Ellis' short play about the death of activist Rachel Corrie, ''Blindingly obvious facts'', was directed by Matt Scholten and was featured in the 2007 Melbourne Top 30 season of the Short and Sweet short play competition. Ben Ellis (rugby League)
Ben Ellis (born 14 September 1982) is a New Zealand former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 2000s. A New Zealand Māori representative hooker, he played in the National Rugby League for Australian club St. George Illawarra Dragons. Background Born in Tūrangi, Ellis is of Maori, Welsh, Lebanese descent. Playing career A former Junior Kiwi, in 2006 Ellis played for the North Sydney Bears, making a record 1,066 tackles in the NSWRL Premier League season. In 2007 Ellis joined the St. George Illawarra Dragons in the NRL. Ellis captained the New Zealand Māori rugby league team in the opening match of the 2008 World Cup. At the end of the 2008 season Ellis was released by the Dragons, and signed with the Cabramatta Two-Blues club in the Bundaberg Cup. In 2009 Ellis was named to play in the New South Wales Residents team.

Ben Ellis (footballer)
Ben Ellis (11 April 1906 – 1 January 1968) was a Welsh footballer who played for Bargoed Town, Tredegar, Bangor and Motherwell, as a left back. He also represented Wales and the Scottish League, and was selected for a Scottish Football Association tour of North America in 1939, official eligibility rules not applying. Ellis signed for Motherwell in 1930 and made 286 Scottish Football League appearances for the club, also appearing in two Scottish Cup finals in 1933 and 1939, both ending in defeat. An injury sustained while he was working in a local engineering business effectively ended his playing career, but Ellis then worked as a trainer and a coach for Motherwell. He finally left the club in 1955. Away from football, in 1941 he won the Scottish Professional Championship of snooker.

Alfred Benjamin Ellis (July /small>, 1870 – July 26, 1931) was an infielder in Major League Baseball who played for the Philadelphia Phillies during the season. He was born in New York City. Basically a third baseman, Ellis played all infield positions, except first base, and also served as a corner outfielder. In four career games, he collected one hit in 16 career at-bats and received three walks for a .063 batting average and a .211 on-base percentage, respectively. It is unknown which hand he batted and threw with. In addition, he played or managed in the Minor leagues during eight seasons spanning 1893–1900. Ellis died in Schenectady, New York Schenectady () is a city in Schenectady County, New York, United States, of which it is the county seat. BenJarvus Jeremy Green-Ellis (born July 2, 1985) is a former American football running back who played for the New England Patriots and Cincinnati Bengals. Green-Ellis was signed by the Patriots as an undrafted free agent in 2008. He played college football at Indiana and Mississippi. Because of his segmented name, Green-Ellis is nicknamed The Law Firm.
