Bình Triệu station is a subsidiary station of Saigon station on the North–South railway (Reunification Express) in Vietnam. A high speed line is scheduled for completion to take traffic congestion away from Saigon. Thủ Đức
Thủ Đức ʰu˨˩˦:ɗɨk˧˥is a sub-municipality in Ho Chi Minh City of the Southestern region of Vietnam. History The oldest name what was recorded in this area was Ngãi An (義安), a district-level administrative unit has existed since the Nguyễn lords. However, since October 9, 1868, the French government in Cochinchina has decided to change its name to Thủ Đức or sometimes Thũ Đức (守德) to suit the expansion and upgrade plan for the land. That was inherently a pen name of a Minh Hương man called Tạ Huy (謝輝), courtesy name Dương Minh (揚明), who has made meritorious services to this area. He was ordained "pioneering saint" (前賢, tiền hiền) by Saigonese folk. Saigon Station
Saigon station (previously Hòa Hưng station) is a railway station in District 3, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The station is a major hub in the national railway network. Located about 1 km from the city center, Saigon railway station is the final station on the North–South railway, and the southernmost point of the Vietnamese railways. The name of the station has remained the same despite the name of the city of Saigon being changed after the Vietnam War to Ho Chi Minh City (to honor the revolutionary leader who had declared independence back in 1945). History The first Saigon station, which opened in 1885 as part of the Saigon–Mỹ Tho Railway, was located near the Quách Thị Trang Square in District 1.
