Butch Walker
Bradley Glenn "Butch" Walker (born November 14, 1969) is an American singer-songwriter, musician, and record producer. He was lead guitarist for the glam metal band, SouthGang from the late 1980s to early 1990s. From 1997 to 2001, he became the lead vocalist and guitarist for the rock band, Marvelous 3. Career SouthGang Bradley Walker grew up in Cartersville, Georgia, working as a guitarist and performer in several rock bands during the 1980s, including Bad Boys and Byte the Bullet. In 1988, Byte the Bullet moved to Los Angeles, and within a year, was signed to Virgin Records. The band then changed its name to SouthGang and released two albums, ''Tainted Angel'' in 1991 and ''Group Therapy'' in 1992. SouthGang was one of the first bands to tour China in the early 1990s. Following modifications to their record contract, they disbanded, but remained on good terms. It contains two concerts — a 40-minute full-band set, recorded in Tokyo, Japan during Walker's 2005 tour with Avril Lavigne, and 75-minute acoustic set, recorded in Atlanta, Georgia in 2003. ''Sycamore Meadows'' is the fourth full-length album by Butch Walker. It was released in the United States on November 11, 2008. Walker wrote three tracks ("Ships in a Bottle", "Vessels", and "The 3 Kids In Brooklyn") prior to the Malibu house fires that took his home in November 2007. These tracks were made available on Walker's Myspace site in demo form in late 2007. Butch stated in an interview with InklingsTV that " he firesmade imfeel like ehad something to prove, something that eneeded to say". The physical packaging of the album is, according to Walker, very 'bare-bones', because he wanted it to be 'all about what's on the disc'. The album was acclaimed by music critics. The Academy Is... is an American rock band from Chicago, Illinois, formed in 2003. Before temporarily disbanding, they were signed by the Decaydance imprint of the Fueled by Ramen label. They were originally known as "The Academy", but added the "Is..." in 2004 to avoid legal complications with other established bands already under that name.
