Bugsy (video Game)
''Bugsy'', also known as ''The King of Chicago'', is a 1986 graphic adventure game for the Commodore 64, Amstrad CPC, and ZX Spectrum developed by Silver Sisterhood, St. Bride's School and published by CRL Group exclusively in Europe. Its protagonist, Bugsy Maroon, is a rabbit gangster in 1922 Chicago. Gameplay The objective of the game is to be a successful criminal. While primarily text-based, it features simple graphics depicting the current scene. The controls are of a typical text-based game, having players type in commands in order to interact with the environment and characters. When interacting with characters, players have the option to greet, buy, bribe, hire, insult, protect, sweet-talk, or threaten them. Silver Sisterhood
The Silver Sisterhood was a new religious movement that was active in Burtonport, County Donegal, Ireland from 1982 to 1992. The group has also been referred to as the Rhennish Community and St. Bride's. English writer Miss Martindale (later the public face of Aristasia) was a prominent member. The community is known for creating early Interactive fiction, text adventure video games such as The Snow Queen (video game), ''The Snow Queen'' and Jack the Ripper (1987 video game), ''Jack the Ripper''. Rhennish community The Silver Sisterhood came to Burtonport from Yorkshire in September 1982 and occupied a large house that had previously been the home of the Atlantis (commune), Atlantis commune (often referred to as the ''Screamers''). Zzap!64
''Zzap!64'' is a computer games magazine covering games for computers manufactured by Commodore International, especially the Commodore 64 (C64). It was published in the UK by Newsfield Publications Ltd and later by Europress Impact. The magazine launched in April, with the cover date May 1985, as the sister magazine to '' CRASH''. It focused on the C64 for much of its shelf life, but later incorporated Amiga game news and reviews. Like ''CRASH'' for the ZX Spectrum, it had a dedicated cult following amongst C64 owners and was well known for its irreverent sense of humour as well as its extensive, detailed coverage of the C64 scene. The magazine adopted an innovative review system that involved the use of the reviewers' faces, artistically rendered by in-house artists Oli Frey and Mark Kendrick, to express their reaction to the games. A single-player video game is a video game where input from only one player is expected throughout the gameplay. Amstrad CPC Games
Amstrad plc was a British consumer electronics company, founded in 1968 by Alan Sugar. During the 1980s, the company was known for its home computers beginning with the Amstrad CPC and later also the ZX Spectrum range after the Sinclair deal, which led it to have a substantial share of the home computer market in Britain. In the following decade it shifted focus towards communication technologies, and its main business during the 2000s was the manufacture of satellite television set-top boxes for Sky, which Amstrad had started in 1989 as the then sole supplier of the emerging Sky TV service. Headquartered in Brentwood, the company was listed on the London Stock Exchange from 1980 to 2008, the year when Sugar stepped down after 40 years.
