Bruno Fernandes das Dores de Souza (born 23 December 1984), also known in Brazil as ''Goleiro Bruno'' (the Goalkeeper Bruno), is a Brazilian professional Association football, footballer who plays as a Goalkeeper (association football), goalkeeper. Between 2007 and 2009, he was a key player for Rio de Janeiro giants Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, Flamengo. In 2010, he was charged with Murder of Eliza Samudio, the assault, torture and murder of his extramarital girlfriend and mother of his youngest child, Eliza Samudio. In 2013, he was found guilty of ordering Samudio's murder, hiding the body and kidnapping his baby son, and was sentenced to 22 years in prison, but was released pending appeal in February 2017. In April 2017, Brazil's Supreme Court ordered his re-arrest. In July 2019, he was released to serve partial house arrest, being able to work or train in the day while having to return to his house for the night.
