Brudermühlstraße is an U-Bahn station in the Sendling suburb in Munich, Germany on the U3. The station is located below the Brüdermühlstraße, a part of Munich's Mittlerer Ring ring road system on a junction between the west-east Brüdermühlstraße and the north-south Implerstraße. The station is located 3.8 km southwest of the city centre and 2 km (25 minute walk) south of the Theresienwiese where Oktoberfest is held annually. Sendling is a borough of Munich. It is located south-west of the city centre and spans the city boroughs Sendling and Sendling-Westpark. Sendling is subdivided into Obersendling, Mittersendling, and Untersendling. An island platform (also center platform (American English) or centre platform (British English)) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. The Munich U-Bahn () is an Railway electrification system, electric rail Rapid transit, rapid transit network in Munich, Germany. The system began operation in 1971, and is operated by the municipally owned Münchner Verkehrsgesellschaft (MVG; Munich Transport Company). Theresienwiese
Theresienwiese is an open space in the Munich borough of Ludwigsvorstadt-Isarvorstadt. It serves as the official ground of the Munich Oktoberfest. A space of , it is bordered in the west by the Ruhmeshalle and the Bavaria statue, symbolizing the State of Bavaria, and in the east by ''Esperantoplatz'', a square named for the international language Esperanto.
