The Great Destroyer
''The Great Destroyer'' is the seventh studio album by American indie rock band Low. It was released on January 25, 2005, as their first recording on Sub Pop Records. "California", a song about Sparhawk's mother, was released as the album's first single, backed with a demo of "Cue the Strings". A remix EP of "Monkey", entitled " Tonight the Monkeys Die", soon followed. Music videos were created for both. The title of the album (as well as the song "Silver Rider") is taken from the story within the album art. Critical reception The site named it the 46th-best reviewed album of 2005. Broadway Cinematheque () is a cinema in Yau Ma Tei, Hong Kong, run by Broadway Circuit. Located in Prosperous Garden, a public housing estate, the cinema screens a wider spectrum of films including independent and art films than other cinemas in Hong Kong. The cinema hosts four houses with 476 seats (115 normal seats + 4 wheelchair seats per house). It also has a book store, Kubrick, which specializes in books about films, and has a café adjacent to it. History Broadway Cinematheque's building was designed by Gary Chang, who founded the EDGE Design Institute in 1994. The cinema opened on 20 November 1996, the day of the Garley Building fire in the adjoining Jordan neighbourhood, and as a result business on its first day was quite poor. Broadway Circuit is one of the major Movie theater, cinema chains in Hong Kong. The first cinema was established in 1950, and in 1987, it was rebuilt on Sai Yeung Choi Street in Mong Kok, Kowloon. Over time, it has grown into the largest cinema chain in Hong Kong. The cinema chain is managed by Edko Films Ltd and operates under five brands: Broadway, PALACE, My Cinema, MOViE MOViE, and B+Cinema. Starting in 2006, it also managed Hong Kong’s AMC Theatres on behalf of AMC Theatres in the United States until the Franchising, franchise agreement expired in 2020. Broadway on the Mall was a four-storey shopping mall, located in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, between the Queen Street Mall and Adelaide Street in the Brisbane central business district. It was developed by Mace Developments and Jennings Industries in the late 1980s. Following the collapse of AV Jennings and a series of acquisitions, the centre has been owned by Industry Superannuation Property Trust since 2011. In 2011, the centre conducted a search for a fashion blogger to represent them on social media. On 31 August 2013, the centre closed to allow for a redevelopment of the tired retail space to commence. George Routledge
George Routledge (23 September 1812 – 13 December 1888) was a British book publisher and the founder of the publishing house Routledge. Early life He was born in Brampton, Cumberland on 23 September 1812. Career Routledge gained his early experience of business with Thurnam & Sons, booksellers, at Carlisle. Moving to London in 1833, he started in business for himself as a bookseller in 1836, and as a publisher in 1843. He made his first serious success by reprinting the Biblical commentaries of an American writer, Albert Barnes. Routledge's fame as a publisher, however, rests mainly on popular books. The Broadway was a mid-level department store chain headquartered in Los Angeles, California. Founded in 1896 by English-born Arthur Letts Sr., and named after what was once the Broadway (Los Angeles), city's main shopping street, the Broadway became a dominant retailer in Southern California and the Southwest. Its fortunes eventually declined, and Federated Department Stores (now Macy's, Inc.) bought the chain in 1995. In 1996, Broadway stores were either closed or converted into Macy's and Bloomingdales, some of which were sold and converted to Sears, including the Stonewood Center and Whittwood Town Center locations.
