Brian Brett (speedway Rider)
Brian Christopher Brett (3 April 1938 - 14 November 2006) was a motorcycle speedway rider from England. Speedway career Brett first rode in British speedway for the Rye House Roosters during the 1956 Southern Area League, when he was the youngest rider in the country. He helped the Rye House team win the league title and league cup. From 1958 to 1960, he rode in top tier of British Speedway for Southampton Saints. before joining the Swindon Robins, where he would spend five seasons from 1960 to 1964 and his successes included winning the 1961 National Trophy. He joined Newcastle Diamonds in 1965 and would ride for them for two seasons. Brett reached the final of the Speedway World Championship in the 1965 Individual Speedway World Championship. At retirement he had earned 3 international caps for the England national speedway team and 4 caps for Great Britain. Stanstead Abbotts
Stanstead Abbotts (alternatively Stanstead Abbots) is a village and civil parish in the district of East Hertfordshire, Hertfordshire, England; it lies on the county boundary with Essex. Nigel Boocock (17 September 1937 – 3 April 2015) was a motorcycle speedway rider from England. who appeared in eight Speedway World Championship finals. He holds the record number of caps for Great Britain (64) and the record for total number of caps, when including England (154). Career Born in Wakefield, England, Boocock started his career with the Bradford Tudors during the 1955 season and stayed there until the end of the 1957 season (Bradford replaced Birmingham Brummies during August of the 1957 season). After spending the 1958 season with the Ipswich Witches, he moved in 1959 to the Coventry Bees. He found a permanent home with the Bees and spent the next eighteen seasons with them. His career also took off in terms of success and was regularly called up to represent his country. In his first season with the Bees he topped the Coventry averages and won the Midland Cup in 1960. John Robert Vickers (Ken) McKinlay (7 June 1928 – 9 February 2003) was a British international motorcycle speedway rider. He earned 23 caps for the Scotland national speedway team, 92 caps for the England national speedway team and 23 caps for the Great Britain team. Ronald How (23 December 1929 – 10 October 2011) was an international motorcycle speedway rider from England. Career summary How won seven Championships and six National Trophy wins in a 15-season career. How began riding for Harringay Racers in 1952 and stayed with them for four seasons. After leaving Harringay, he rode for Wimbledon Dons from 1955 to 1963, he sustained a significant ankle injury in 1959. He also won the Southern Riders' Championship in 1959 and the Pride of the Nations Trophy in 1963. At retirement he had ridden in eight Speedway World Championships and won 44 caps for the England national speedway team and 12 caps for the Great Britain team.
