Brent C. M. Meuleman (born 17 March 1988) is a Belgium, Belgian politician and member of the Chamber of Representatives (Belgium), Chamber of Representatives. A member of Vooruit (political party), Vooruit, he has represented East Flanders (Chamber of Representatives constituency), East Flanders since June 2024. Meuleman was born on 17 March 1988 in Ghent. He is the son of Dirk Meuleman, a labourer at Sidmar, and Vera Herry, a childcare worker at a OCMW Child care, crèche. He was educated in Zelzate and obtained a teaching diploma at the Ledeganck campus of the Hogeschool Gent. Meuleman worked as a communications officer for the municipal council in Zelzate between 2009 and 2010. He was a worker at the BP oil refinery at the Port of Ghent. He then taught ethics at the . The Chamber of Representatives (; ; ) is one of the two chambers in the Bicameralism, bicameral Belgian Federal Parliament, Federal Parliament of Belgium, the other being the Senate (Belgium), Senate. 2019 Belgian Federal Election
Federal elections were held in Belgium on 26 May 2019, alongside the country's European and regional elections. All 150 members of the Chamber of Representatives were elected from eleven multi-member constituencies. The far right-wing Vlaams Belang (VB) saw a resurgence in Flanders, and with the New Flemish Alliance (NVA), parties subscribing to Flemish separatism and nationalism obtained nearly 50% of the vote in Flanders.
