Brazil At The 1982 FIFA World Cup
The Brazil national football team participated in the 1982 FIFA World Cup, and in doing so maintained their record of being the only team to enter every World Cup Finals. Brazil played until the Second Group Round, where they were defeated by Italy national football team, Italy. This result meant that they finished the tournament in fifth place for the second time in history (1954 FIFA World Cup, 1954 was the previous instance). The Brazil national football team (), nicknamed ''Seleção Canarinho'' ("Canary Squad", after their bright yellow jersey), represents Brazil in men's international Association football, football and is administered by the Brazilian Football Confederation, Confederação Brasileira de Futebol (), the governing body of football in Brazil. The 1970 FIFA World Cup was the 9th edition of the FIFA World Cup, the quadrennial international Association football, football championship for List of men's national association football teams, men's senior national teams. Sérgio Bernardino (born 23 December 1953), known as Serginho Chulapa or simply Serginho, is a Brazilian football coach and retired professional footballer who played as a striker. Club career São Paulo Born in São Paulo, Serginho was a São Paulo youth graduate. He made his first-team debut on 6 June 1973, in a 0–0 friendly draw against Bahia, and scored his first goal four days later in a 1–1 draw against Corinthians for the Taça Estado de São Paulo tournament. In 1974, returning from a loan to Série B side Marília, Serginho became a mainstay at ''Tricolor'', scoring an impressive 18 goals in the 1977 season. David Narey
David Narey (born 12 June 1956) is a former Scottish international footballer who played as a defender. Narey spent 21 years with Dundee United, winning the Scottish championship once and the league cup twice. He also played in numerous cup runs in Europe, including playing in the 1983–84 European Cup semi final and the 1987 UEFA Cup final. Although best remembered as a central defender, he occasionally played in midfield. After leaving United, he won the 1994–95 Scottish League Cup with Raith Rovers. He collected 35 full caps for Scotland including playing in two World Cups. Narey opened the scoring for Scotland against Brazil with a 20-yard drive in the 1982 FIFA World Cup. José Oscar Bernardi
José Oscar Bernardi (born 20 June 1954), known as Oscar, is a Brazilian former association footballer who played as a defender. He notably played for the Brazil national football team at international level, and played as a starter in defence at the 1978 and 1982 FIFA World Cups, while he was a reserve in 1986. He was capped almost 60 times for Brazil between April 1978 and May 1986, and scored two goals. At club level, he played for São Paulo and Ponte Preta in Brazil. Andriy Bal
Andriy Mykhaylovych Bal (; 16 February 1958 – 9 August 2014) was a Soviet and Ukrainian professional footballer who played as a midfielder and football manager. Club career Born in Rozdil, Ukrainian SSR, Bal was a product of the Lviv youth football schools. By 1976 he was playing in the senior squad of Karpaty Lviv. After five years with the team, he earned a transfer to Dynamo Kyiv. He went on to spend the majority of his playing career with the team, winning four championship medals with them, as well as four Soviet Cups. He also picked up three runner-up medals. Another major achievement of his career with Dynamo Kyiv was winning the 1986 Cup Winners' Cup. In 1990, he left Dynamo to play in Israel with Maccabi Tel Aviv. He spent a season there before moving on to Bnei Yehuda, where he finished his playing career in 1993.
