Brampton City Hall
Brampton City Hall is home to Brampton City Council and the departments of the city. It is located at the intersection of Wellington Street and Main Street in downtown Brampton. History A park on the site for many years was home to the Brampton Cenotaph (opened in 1928 by Governor General Lord Willingdon), it was named Memorial Park. (A park at South Fletcher's Sportsplex now uses the name and the old former park named Ken Whillans Square) A downtown bus terminal on part of the site opened after 1976 and was closed at some point before 1989, to accommodate construction of the building. (bus services have been relocated to the Downtown Transit Centre) The six-storey building was designed by Robert J. Posliff Architect Inc. Hurontario Street is a roadway running in Ontario, Canada between Lake Ontario at Mississauga and Lake Huron's Georgian Bay at Collingwood. Freeman Freeman-Thomas, 1st Marquess of Willingdon (12 September 1866 – 12 August 1941), styled as the Earl of Willingdon between 1931 and 1936, was a British people, British Liberal Party (UK), Liberal politician and administrator who served as Governor General of Canada and as Governor-General of India, Viceroy and Governor-General of India. Ken Whillans
Kenneth Gilmour 'Ken' Whillans (8 August 1927 – 24 August 1990) served as Mayor of the City of Brampton from 1982 to 1990. Personal life and family Whillans was born in Ottawa. He had a twin brother, Don. Son Doug Whillans has run for public office on multiple ballots, was successful in 2014 and now serves as a City Councillor for Wards 2 and 6. As alderman Whillans led efforts to revamp Citizens Advisory Committees while in office as an alderman. Mayor of Brampton Whillans was elected mayor in 1982 following the death of James Archdekin, who died while in office of a heart attack. Whillans ran against Terry Miller in the two-man race. Donald M. Gordon Chinguacousy Park, colloquially known as Chinguacousy Park, is a large park in the Bramalea section of Brampton, Ontario, Canada. It is bounded by Queen Street East on the southeast, Bramalea Road on the northeast, and Central Park Drive on the north and west sides. Terry Fox Stadium (Brampton) in the north of the park, sometimes called Terry Fox Track and Field Stadium, has a track and field oval surrounding an artificial turf field with Canadian Football markings and stands for about 1000 spectators.
