The Boys' Youth European Volleyball Championship is a volleyball competition for men's national teams with players under the age of 18 years, currently held biannually and organized by the European Volleyball Confederation, the volleyball federation for Europe. Originally the age limit was 19; as of the 2018 edition, the competition age limit was changed from 19 to 18 and the name to U18 European Championship. European Volleyball Confederation
The European Volleyball Confederation ( or ''CEV'') is the continental sports governing body, governing body for the sports of volleyball, indoor volleyball, beach volleyball and snow volleyball in Europe. Its headquarters is in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg. Profile Although the CEV was formed on 21 October 1963, in Bucharest, Socialist Republic of Romania, Romania volleyball became popular in Europe many years before. The majority of the teams that attended the Congress which eventually led to the foundation of the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball, FIVB in 1947 were from this continent. The foundation is supposed to have been a move on the part of European national federations. The 2024 Men's U18 Volleyball European Championship is the 16th edition of the CEV U18 Volleyball European Championship, organised by Europe's governing volleyball body, the CEV. The tournament is currently held in Plovdiv and Sofia, Bulgaria, from 10 to 21 July 2024. The top teams of the tournament will qualify for the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Boys' U19 World Championship as the CEV representatives. Players must be born on or after 1 January 2007. 2020 Boys' U18 Volleyball European Championship
The 2020 Boys' U18 Volleyball European Championship was the 14th edition of the Boys' Youth European Volleyball Championship, organised by Europe's governing volleyball body, the CEV. Originally, the tournament was scheduled to be hosted jointly by Italy and Greece, but the latter gave up the hosting right. The tournament was held in Lecce and Marsicovetere, Italy from 5 to 13 September 2020. The top six teams of the tournament qualified for the 2021 FIVB Volleyball Boys' U19 World Championship as the CEV representatives. Players must be born on or after 1 January 2003. Qualification The second round qualification was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the remaining six spots were allocated according to the Men's U18 CEV European Ranking as of 1 June 2019.
