Boxing At The 2022 Mediterranean Games – Women's Bantamweight
The women's bantamweight competition of the boxing events at the 2022 Mediterranean Games in Oran, Algeria, was held from 26 June to 1 July at the EMEC Hall. Like all Mediterranean Games boxing events, the competition was a straight single-elimination tournament. Both semifinal losers were awarded bronze medals, so no boxers competed again after their first loss. Results References

Hatice Akbaş (born 1 January 2002) is a Turkish Olympics silver medalist, world and European champion female boxer competing in the bantamweight (54 kg) division. Early years Hatice Akbaş started boxing at her age of nine in the sport hall her father opened in Malatya. She took the gold medal at the 2016 European Women Youth Boxing Championships in Ordu, Turkey. She became champion in the flyweight (50–52 kg) event at the 2022 European U22 Boxing Championships held in Poreč, Croatia on 22 March 2022. Boxing career On 20 May 2022, she won the gold medal in the 54 kg category at the Women's World Championship defeating Romania's Lăcrămioara Perijoc in the bantamweight final in Istanbul, Turkey. Widad Bertal (born 31 August 1999) is a Moroccan boxer competing in the bantamweight (54kg) division. She won the gold medal in the women's 54kg event at the 2023 African Games held in Accra, Ghana. She also won the gold medal in her event at the 2025 IBA Women's World Boxing Championships, 2025 World Championships held in Niš, Serbia. The 2022 Mediterranean Games (), officially known as the XIX Mediterranean Games and commonly known as Oran 2022, was an international multi-sport event held from 25 June to 6 July 2022 in Oran, Algeria. Oran was announced as the host city at the ICMG General Assembly in Pescara, Italy, on 15 August 2015. They were supposed to take place in 2021, but they were delayed to 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 3,298 athletes (2,014 men and 1,284 women) took part in the games.
