Boxing At The 1992 Summer Olympics – Bantamweight
The men's bantamweight event was part of the Boxing at the 1992 Summer Olympics, boxing programme at the 1992 Summer Olympics. The weight class allowed boxers of up to 54 kilograms to compete. The competition was held from 28 July to 8 August 1992. 31 boxers from 31 nations competed. Miguel Brito dos Reis Dias (born April 1, 1968, in Santa Maria, Cape Verde, Santa Maria) is a retired boxing, boxer from The Netherlands, who was born on Cape Verde. He represented the Netherlands at the Boxing at the 1992 Summer Olympics, 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain, where he was eliminated in the first round of the bantamweight division (– 54 kg) by Tunisia's Riadh Klai. A year earlier, at the 1991 European Amateur Boxing Championships, he won the silver medal in his weight category. László Bognár
László Bognár (born February 24, 1968) is a Hungarian former professional boxer who fought in the featherweight to light welterweight divisions. As an amateur he represented his native country at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. He is a former WBU International featherweight, WBO Inter-Continental super featherweight, Hungarian and IBC lightweight champion. Professional career Bognar turned professional in October 1994 at Szekszárd, Hungary. In his debut he defeated Romanian's Radu Petric on points over six rounds. Michael Gomez fights Bognar fought Irish fighter Michael Gomez on his first fight of 2001 on 10 February for the WBO Intercontinental super featherweight title, in Widnes, Cheshire, England. Fredrick "Fred" Muteweta (born November 4, 1971, in Kampala) is a retired boxer from Uganda, who represented his native country at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea in the light-flyweight class. There he was defeated in the second round by Wayne McCullough of Ireland. In the bantamweight class at the 1992 Summer Olympics, he was once again defeated in his opening bout, once again by Wayne McCullough.
