Bouck's Falls
Bouck's Falls is located in the town of Fulton in Schoharie County, New York. This waterfall is named after the family of former New York Governor William C. Bouck. The waterfall and surrounding lands and waterways are now under Kanien’kehá:ka (Mohawk) ownership. In April 2020, the waterfall was recognized as a sacred site by the NYS Government. The population was 1,495 at the 2000 census. Within the town of Fulton are the hamlets of Breakabeen and Fultonham. The town is in the center of the county and is also one of the larger towns in the county. Fulton is west of Albany. History The territory was in the realm of the Mohawk tribe. The town was first settled around 1715 after being purchased directly from local natives. Part of the early town was called Vroomansland after Adam Vrooman, the landowner.
