Borsuk (infantry Fighting Vehicle)
Borsuk (Poland, Polish for Badger) is an amphibious infantry fighting vehicle produced by Huta Stalowa Wola, a part of Polish Armaments Group, PGZ (Polish Armaments Group). It is designed to replace the List of BMP-1 variants#Polish People's Republic / Poland, BWP-1 IFV that has been in service with the Polish Armed Forces since 1973 but is now obsolete. Although often referred to as BWP Borsuk, ''BWP'' is not an official part of the name but rather an abbreviation of ''Bojowy Wóz Piechoty'', the Polish term for infantry fighting vehicles. Karol Borsuk
Karol Borsuk (8 May 1905 – 24 January 1982) was a Polish mathematician. His main area of interest was topology. He made significant contributions to Shape theory (mathematics), shape theory, a term which he coined. He also obtained important results in functional analysis. He was a professor of mathematics at the University of Warsaw, a member of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Polish Mathematical Society and a leading representative of the Warsaw School (mathematics), Warsaw School of Mathematics. Life and career Early life and education Borsuk was born in 1905 in Warsaw to father Marian, a surgeon, and mother Zofia (née Maciejewska). In 1923, he graduated from the Stanisław Staszic State Gymnasium in Warsaw. Between 1923–1927, he studied mathematics at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Warsaw. Angela Borsuk
Angela Borsuk (; born 29 August 1967) is an Israeli chess player. She previously represented Soviet Union and Ukraine. Borsuk was born in Kherson, Ukraine and made her chess debut for Ukraine in 1989. Borsuk has formally represented Israel for most number of times in her chess career. Angela Borsuk made her Israeli debut for the Israeli national chess team at the European Chess Championship in 1999, and received there a silver medal for her individual score. She again participated for Israel at this tournament in 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011 en 2013. Pavlo Borsuk is a Ukrainian sprint canoeist. He is a 2024 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships bronze medalist. Career Borsuk made his international debut at the 2019 ICF World Junior and U23 Canoe Sprint Championships and won a silver medal in the junior C–1 200 metres event. He competed at the 2022 ICF World Junior and U23 Canoe Sprint Championships and won a silver medal in the C–2 1000 metres event.
