Boomerang is a 24-hour, British pay television channel which primarily features classic and modern animated series from Hanna-Barbera and Warner Bros. Animation. The channel, launched on 27 May 2000, as a spin-off, of Cartoon Network (British and Irish TV channel), Cartoon Network and localisation of the Boomerang (TV network), original American network. It is run, by Warner Bros. Discovery under Warner Bros. Discovery EMEA, its EMEA division. In high-definition television (HDTV) and video display technology, 1080i is a video display format with 1080 lines of vertical resolution and Interlaced video, interlaced scanning method. This format was once a standard in HDTV. It was particularly used for broadcast television because it can deliver high-resolution images without needing excessive bandwidth. This format is used in the SMPTE 292M standard. Definition The number "1080" in 1080i refers to the number of horizontal lines that make up the vertical resolution of the display. Each of these lines contributes to the overall detail and clarity of the image. The letter "i" stands for Interlaced video, interlaced. ''Life with Derek'' is a Canadian television teen sitcom that aired on Family Channel (English) and VRAK.TV (French) in Canada and on Disney Channel in the United States. Now (referred to by some news outlets as The Now Channel) was a British television channel transmitted as part of the British Satellite Broadcasting service during 1990. The channel aired news and current affairs on weekdays and documentaries and arts programmes on weekends. History The Now channel was originally designed to be a live 24-hour news channel similar to CNN and Sky News, with its content provided by ITN.
