Craig F. Bohren (born 1940) - American atmospheric scientist and physicist. Bohren wrote fundamental books on light scattering, atmospheric thermodynamics, and radiative transfer, as well as popular science books on atmospheric optics. Geir Bøhren
Geir Bøhren (born 9 June 1951) is a Norwegian musician and film score composer. Bøhren co-founded the group Junipher Greene in 1966, where he was a drummer. The band started playing blues but later changed to progressive rock. It signed its first record contract in 1971. He graduated from the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo in 1977. Along with Bent Åserud, Bøhren had his breakthrough as a film score composer for ''Orion's Belt'' with the theme Svalbardtema, which has become an unofficial anthem for Svalbard.Skagen: 34 With this score, they won the Amanda Award for best score and the Film Critics' Award. The duo continued to work closely with director Ola Solum, for which they made the score for nearly all his later works. Bøhren created, along with Åserud, the official anthem for the 1994 Winter Olympics. Peter Bohren
Peter Bohren (20 June 1822 – 4 July 1882) was a Swiss mountain guide from Grindelwald. Peter Bohren made three first ascents in the Bernese Alps. On 11 August 1858 he jointly made the first ascent of the Eiger (3967 m above sea level), climbing via the west face with fellow guide, Christian Almer, and Charles Barrington. The group started at 3:30 a.m at the Hotel Wengernalp and the mountaineers reached the summit of the Eiger in the fog at 12 noon. The following year, he reached the Aletschhorn (4193 m) with two colleagues and a guest on 18 June 1859. His last first ascent was the Äbeni Flue The Ebnefluh, also known as the Äbeni Flue and the Ebenefluh, (3,961 m) is a mountain of the Bernese Alps, located on the border between the Swiss cantons of Canton of Bern, Bern and Valais. Rudolf Bohren
Rudolf Bohren (Grindelwald, 22 March 1920 - Dossenheim, 1 February 2010) was a Swiss Protestant (practical) theologian. Bohren became known for his pneumatological approach to homiletics. Biography Bohren studied theology in Bern and Basel, especially with Eduard Thurneysen and Karl Barth. In 1952 he wrote a dissertation on the issue of church discipline in the New Testament by Oscar Cullmann. On May 16, 1945, he was admitted as a pastor to the Reformed Preacher Community in Bern. From 1945 to 1958 he was a pastor in Bern, in Holderbank (Aargau) and in Arlesheim, a suburb of Basel. The experiences in these mutually different communities have shaped his scientific work. In 1958 he was appointed professor of practical theology at the Kirchliche Hochschule Wuppertal. Sebastian Bohren (born 1987 in Winterthur) is a Swiss violinist. Life Sebastian Bohren pursued lessons under Jens Lohmann, followed by studies with Robert Zimansky and Zakhar Bron at the Zurich University of the Arts, with Igor Karsko at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Musikhochschule Luzern and with Ingolf Turban at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München, Munich University of Music and Performing Arts. Spencer Bohren
Spencer Ward Bohren (April 5, 1950 – June 8, 2019) was an American roots musician, singer, songwriter, teacher, and visual artist. He played guitar, lap steel guitar, banjo, and percussion, and utilized the roots of American traditional music to write songs in blues, country, gospel and folk styles. He has released fourteen albums since 1984. Biography Bohren's maternal ancestry is Scots-Irish, and his father's family came from Alsace-Lorraine. Born in Casper, Wyoming, he grew up in a Baptist family in Wyoming and spent time in Denver and Boulder, Colorado, southern Oregon, and Seattle, Washington in the early part of his career. In 1976 he began raising a family with his wife, Marilyn, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
