Canada Olympic Park Bobsleigh, Luge, And Skeleton Track
The Canada Olympic Park bobsleigh, luge, and skeleton track is a bobsleigh, luge, and skeleton (sport), skeleton track located in Calgary, Alberta. Part of Canada Olympic Park, it hosted the bobsleigh and luge competitions at the 1988 Winter Olympics. Ingo Appelt (born 11 December 1961 in Innsbruck) is an Austrian bobsledder who competed from the late 1980s to early 1992. He was Bobsleigh World Cup combined men's champion in 1987–8, and four-man champion in 1987-8 and 1988–9. Competing in two Winter Olympics, Appelt won the gold medal in the four-man event at Albertville in 1992. He also won a bronze medal in the four-man event at the 1990 FIBT World Championships in St. Moritz. Appelt retired from bobsledding at the 1992 games. Bill White (born December 6, 1959) is an American bobsledder. He competed in the four man event at the 1988 Winter Olympics. Bill White ran track and played football at Wasson High School in Colorado Springs. He then attended the University of Northern Colorado where he was on the track team, running sprints, with a 100 meter PR of 10.65. White earned MVP honors in the North Central Conference in track for three years. He was recruited to the US bobsled team because of his speed and athletic ability, leading to good push times.
