Bob Reynolds (American Football, Born 1914)
Robert O'Dell "Horse" Reynolds (March 30, 1914 – February 8, 1994) was an American football player and businessman in radio and professional sports. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame and is the only player ever to play in every minute of three consecutive Rose Bowl games (1934–1936). Reynolds was an All-American Tackle (American football), tackle who played for Stanford University from 1933 to 1935. After two years in the National Football League (NFL) with the Detroit Lions, Reynolds went into the broadcasting business and became general manager of the 50,000-watt KMPC radio station. He formed a partnership with Gene Autry in 1952 and served as the president of Golden West Broadcasting. He was also a founder, co-owner and president of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, California Angels Major League Baseball team from 1960 to 1975. Tackle (American Football)
A tackle is a playing position in American football. Historically, in the one-platoon system prevalent in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, a tackle played on both offense and defense. In the modern system of specialized units, offensive tackle and defensive tackle are separate positions, and the stand-alone term "tackle" refers to the offensive tackle position only. The offensive tackle (OT, T), sometimes specified as left tackle (LT) or right tackle (RT), is a position on the offensive line that flanks the two guards. Like other offensive linemen, their objective is to block during each offensive play, physically preventing defenders from tackling or disrupting the offensive ball carrier with the intention of advancing the football downfield. KMPC (1540 AM, "Radio Korea", 라디오코리아) is a commercial radio station in Los Angeles, California. It is owned by P&Y Broadcasting Corporation. Radio Korea is a division of the Radio Korea Media Group. The station airs Korean language programming, a blend of talk, news, information, and music for the largest Korean American community in the United States, and the largest Korean community outside Korea. KMPC is one of four radio stations in the greater Los Angeles area that broadcast entirely in Korean. The others are 1190 KGBN Anaheim, 1230 KYPA Los Angeles and 1650 KFOX Torrance. Rose Bowl Game
The Rose Bowl Game is an annual American college football bowl game, traditionally played on January 1 (New Year's Day) at the Rose Bowl (stadium), Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. When New Year's Day falls on a Sunday, the game is played on Monday, January 2. Nicknamed "The Granddaddy of Them All" by broadcaster Keith Jackson, it was the first postseason football game ever established. Vow Boys
The Stanford Cardinal football program represents Stanford University in college football at the NCAA Division I FBS level and is a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference. The program was previously in the Pac-12 Conference. The team is known as the Cardinal, adopted prior to the 1982 season. Stanford was known as the "Cardinal" for its first two decades of athletic competition, then more commonly as the "Cardinals" until 1930. The name was changed to the "Indians" from 1930 to January 1972, and back to the "Cardinals" from 1972 through 1981. Bob "Bones" Hamilton
Robert Alexander "Bones" Hamilton (September 8, 1912 – April 1, 1996) was an American gridiron football player, best known for playing college football for Stanford University. He was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1972. Biography Hamilton was born in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, and attended Sewickley High School. He then enrolled at Kiski Prep in the fall of 1930, and arrived at Stanford University in the fall of 1932, along with Kiski classmate Jim "Monk" Moscrip. Hamilton, Moscrip, Bob "Horse" Reynolds, and Bobby Grayson played for Stanford's freshman football team during the 1932 season. Jim Moscrip
James Henderson "Monk" Moscrip (September 17, 1913 – October 11, 1980) was an American professional football player who was an end for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Stanford University, then played two seasons professionally with the Lions. He is an inductee of the College Football Hall of Fame. Biography Born in Adena, Ohio, Moscrip attended The Kiski Prep School in Saltsburg, Pennsylvania, before enrolling at Stanford University. Moscrip played as an end for the Stanford Indians football team (as it was then known) for the 1933 to 1935 seasons. Those teams were known as the "Vow Boys", as they vowed not to lose to USC. Bobby Grayson
Robert Harry Grayson (December 8, 1914 – September 22, 1981) was an American football player. He was a two-time consensus All-American player who led the Stanford University football team to three consecutive Rose Bowl Games from 1933 to 1935. At Stanford, Grayson played for the varsity football team in the 1933, 1934 and 1935 seasons. He was recruited to Stanford by Coach Glenn "Pop" Warner and helped lead Stanford to a Pacific Coast Conference title in 1934 and co-championships in 1933 and 1935.
