"Block Rockin' Beats" is a song by British big beat duo the Chemical Brothers. Released in March 1997 by Freestyle Dust and Virgin Records as the second single and opening track from their second studio album, ''Dig Your Own Hole'' (1997), it topped the UK Singles Chart and peaked at number 40 on the US ''Billboard'' Modern Rock Tracks chart. It received a Grammy Award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance. Two different edits of "Block Rockin' Beats" exist: the version found on ''Dig Your Own Hole'' has an intro, while the version released as a single begins with the bass line. The Chemical Brothers are an English electronic music duo formed by Ed Simons and Tom Rowlands in Manchester in 1992. They were pioneers in bringing the big beat genre to the forefront of pop culture. Originally known as The Dust Brothers, they changed their name due to the existence of another band with the same name. The Crusaders (Houston Group)
The Crusaders (formerly known as The Jazz Crusaders) were an American jazz/jazz fusion group performing from the 1960s to the 2010s. The group was known as the Jazz Crusaders from their formation in 1960 until shortening their name in 1971. The Crusaders played a wide assortment of genres, including straight ahead jazz, urban R&B, R&B-based jazz, and the blues. "Let There Be More Light" is a song by English rock band Pink Floyd and the opening track on their second album, ''A Saucerful of Secrets''. It was also released in edited form as the fourth American single by the group. Writing and recording The song is written by Roger Waters. Bernard Lee "Pretty" Purdie (born June 11, 1939) is an American drummer, and an influential R&B, soul, funk and jazz musician. He is known for his precise time-keeping and his signature use of Tuplet, triplets against a half-time backbeat: the Purdie shuffle (music), shuffle. He was inducted into the ''Modern Drummer'' Hall of Fame in 2013. ''Singles 93–03'' is a compilation album by English electronic music duo The Chemical Brothers, released on 22 September 2003. It is a collection of singles from the duo between 1993 and 2003 (though not all the singles are included), plus two new songs " Get Yourself High" and " The Golden Path". Early copies of the CD came with a bonus CD. It was certified gold by the BPI on 24 October 2003. "Otter Rock", which is featured on the bonus disc as a previously unreleased song, also appears on ''The Big Noise'' (a charity CD released in ''The Guardian'' for Oxfam). Singles " The Golden Path" was released on 15 September 2003 as the first single from the album. It reached number 17 in the UK charts.
