Black Magic (manga)
is a cyberpunk manga written and illustrated by Masamune Shirow. It was first published as a ''dōjinshi'' in 1983, and was later reprinted in ''tankōbon'' format by Seishinsha in 1985. The series was later adapted into an original video animation, OVA in 1987 which was directed by Hiroyuki Kitakubo. Anime International Company, AIC and Animate (retailer), Animate provided the animation/production while Bandai Visual was chosen as the distributor. The OVA is very loosely based on one of the chapters of the manga and centers around the efforts of a female journalist named Sybel, trying to save a young girl from an out-of-control military android created by the girl's grandfather. Gary Michael Dubin (May 5, 1959 – October 8, 2016) was an American actor. He was best known for his portrayal of Punky Lazaar, a friend of Danny Partridge on ''The Partridge Family''.
