Bishop (comics)
Lucas Bishop is a character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer John Byrne and artist Whilce Portacio, the character first appeared in ''The Uncanny X-Men'' #282 (November 1991). Bishop debuted as a member of a mutant police force from a dystopian future of the Marvel Universe Xavier's Security Enforcers (XSE). He traveled to the 20th century and joined the X-Men. The character possesses the ability to absorb energy. Omar Sy portrayed Bishop in the 2014 live-action feature film, '' X-Men: Days of Future Past''. Ariel Olivetti (born November 15, 1967) is an Argentina, Argentine comic book penciller best known for his work on United States, American comic book titles such as ''Daredevil (Marvel Comics series), Daredevil'', ''X-Man'', ''Space Ghost'' and ''Punisher War Journal''. Career Olivetti studied Graphic Design in college and first had his work published in the Argentine magazine ''Fierro''. A dystopia (lit. "bad place") is an imagined world or society in which people lead wretched, dehumanized, fearful lives. It is an imagined place (possibly state) in which everything is unpleasant or bad, typically a totalitarian or environmentally degraded one. Gambit is a fictional character, a superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics, usually those featuring the X-Men, a group of which Gambit is typically depicted as a member. The character was created by writer Chris Claremont and artist Jim Lee. Mountjoy is a fictional mutant character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character first appeared in ''Bishop'' #1 (October 1994). Fictional character biography Mountjoy is a mutant who was trained by the Emplates to merge with another person's body to feed. Originally from the same future as Bishop, Mountjoy went through one of Trevor Fitzroy’s time portals while possessing Bantam. He then left Bantam after he arrived. When Fitzroy was presumed dead, Mountjoy hunted down Bantam, as he was the only one who knew of Mountjoy's presence. The Jheri curl (often spelled Jerry curl or Jeri Curl) is a permanent wave hairstyle that was popular among Black Americans during the 1980s and early 1990s. Invented by the hairdresser Jheri Redding, the Jheri curl gives the wearer a glossy, loosely curled look. It was touted as a "wash and wear" style that was easier to care for than the other popular chemical treatment of the day, the relaxer. Days Of Future Past
"Days of Future Past" is a storyline in the Marvel Comics comic book ''The Uncanny X-Men'' issues #141–142, published in 1981. It deals with a dystopian future in which mutants are incarcerated in internment camps. An adult Kate Pryde transfers her mind into her younger self, the present-day Kitty Pryde, who brings the X-Men to prevent a fatal moment in history that triggers anti-mutant hysteria. The storyline was produced during the franchise's rise to popularity under the writer/artist team of Chris Claremont, John Byrne and Terry Austin.
