Bill Brown (American Football)
William Dorsey Brown (June 29, 1938 – November 4, 2018) was an American professional American football, football player who was a Fullback (American football), fullback in the National Football League (NFL) for 14 seasons, including 13 seasons with the Minnesota Vikings. He played college football for the Illinois Fighting Illini football, Illinois Fighting Illini. He was named to the Pro Bowl four times with the Vikings. Early life Brown was born on June 29, 1938, in Mendota, Illinois, Mendota, LaSalle County, Illinois. He attended Mendota Township High School, Mendota High School, along with his one-year older brother Jim. Both brothers were all-state in football. While at Mendota, he also was teammates with future Canadian Football League Hall of Famer Ray Jauch. Brown also participated on the track team, and was an Illinois state champion in throwing the shot put as a junior. 1969 Pro Bowl
The 1969 Pro Bowl was the NFL's nineteenth annual all-star game which featured the outstanding performers from the 1968 season. The game was played on Sunday, January 19, 1969, at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles, California. The final score was West 10, East 7. Defensive tackle Merlin Olsen of the Los Angeles Rams was selected as lineman of the game, and quarterback Roman Gabriel of the Rams received the back of the game award. Attendance at the game was 32,050 on a cool, rainy afternoon. The game was noteworthy because of the contributions of Rams players and their coach. George Allen, the coach of the Rams, had been fired after the season. But, after a great outcry from the fans, he was rehired by Rams management after the Pro Bowl. Ray Jauch
Ray Jauch ( ; born February 11, 1938) is an American former gridiron football player and coach. He was head coach in the Canadian Football League (CFL), the United States Football League (USFL), and the Arena Football League (AFL). He won 127 regular season games in the CFL, the sixth highest win total by a head coach in the league's history. Playing career A star high school athlete, Jauch played college football at the University of Iowa. He was a running back for the national champion 1958 Iowa Hawkeyes, leading the nation in yards per carry. He played in the 1959 Rose Bowl against California. Despite being drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the 1960 American Football League draft, he went to Winnipeg to launch his pro career in the CFL. In gridiron football, a reception, also known informally as a catch, is part of a passing play in which a player in bounds successfully catches (receives) a forward pass thrown from their team's quarterback behind the line of scrimmage.
