This article gives a summary of results for the Belgian Second Division play-offs from 2001 to 2010. 2001 Results and table 2002 Qualifiers The following teams qualified for the 2002 play-offs: * K. Heusden-Zolder as winner of the second period * K.S.V. Ingelmunster as second of the second division * R.A.E.C. Mons as third of the second division * Cercle Brugge K.S.V. as sixth of the second division Periods 1 and 3 were won by champion K.V. Mechelen and Heusden-Zolder finished 4th of the second division. Belgian Second Division Play-offs
The Belgian Second Division play-offs were a series of playoff matches to decide promotion to the Belgian Pro League, organised between 1974 and 2015. Following a large reform of the Belgian football league system at the end of the 2015–16 season, the play-offs were no longer held. In the earlier years these play-offs were contested by teams of the Belgian Second Division but since 2009 also a team from the Belgian Pro League took part. Four teams normally played these play-offs, with the winner being promoted to (or avoiding relegation from) the Belgian Pro League. Eligibility The 34 regular-season games in the Belgian Second Division were grouped into 3 periods: the first period contained the first 10 rounds of matches, the next period matches 11 to 22, and the remaining 12 matches were part of the third and last period. Sporting West Ingelmunster-Harelbeke
KRC Harelbeke is a Belgian football club based in Harelbeke, West Flanders. It is the result of the merger between the former club with the same name K.R.C. Zuid-West-Vlaanderen and K.S.V. Ingelmunster in 2002. The club was founded in 1930 as KSV Ingelmunster and played in Ingelmunster before they moved to Harelbeke in 2002. Since 2002, the club changed its name 3 times, from Sporting West Ingelmunster-Harelbeke in 2003, to Sporting West Harelbeke in 2007 and ultimately to KRC Harelbeke in 2016. The Belgian Pro League (; ; ), officially the Jupiler Pro League () for sponsor Jupiler, is a professional association football league in Belgium and the highest level of the Belgian football league system. Contested by 16 clubs from the 2023–24 Belgian Pro League, 2023–24 season until 2025–26 when it will expand to 18 teams from 2026–27 onwards, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Challenger Pro League.
